So I've an observation ... I suspect the F95 is re-compressing them to be smaller to save storage space & bandwidth -- just like if you (phone) text an image someone vs. emailing them the same IMG. ( I also tell my family to email, NOT TEXT, pictures to me for that very reason.)
It appears to be using AVIF format. I haven't checked to see if its leveraging 'lossy' vs 'lossless'. AVIF does both. If "lossy" it might be ruining any embedded image data of the characters. It could also be scrubbing any metadata or PNG Text chunks.
In Chrome, I download my OG UWU and it's 172 KB, whereas the one on my disk is 876 MB. Filename is PNG. looks like a PNG.
In Firefox, it doesn't see it as a PNG. It's seen as a AVIF file. I right-click it to open the image in a new tab => uwu.png (AVIF image ...). Open Tools > Page Info > Media > select the image: Type AVIF image.
I then took the Chrome downloaded PNG and dropped it on

If this a going to be a continued problem, you'll likely need to find another method of sharing PNGs that will not be mangled by the upload site. F95 is not the only site that does this. Like "text messaging"'s image optimizations, nearly all sites do it anymore for storage and network optimizations.
Sigh.
