Hey guys, I've been thinking about updating how dialogue reactions work, and I wonder what you think of the current protest/disregard/hesitate/accept/embrace reaction system - do you like/dislike/are ok with it?
I am thinking of replacing it with a 'mindset', which you would set/change at any moment within the game. Something (to put it simply) like 'male-ish', 'curious', and 'feminine'. This 'mindset' will affect responses, without the need to select any reaction, as it happens now. In addition, certain 'mindsets' will be required for some tasks or dates to start - for the story consistency. To change the mindset, you'd need to do some very small task (like pick a few 'correct' thoughts to switch into this or that 'mindset').
On one hand, 'mindsets' can make the story more consistent, as some events will only 'happen' when Ryoichi is ready for them. On the other hand, it will take away the ability to choose reactions during the dialogue.
(There is also a third hand when both of these mechanics are combined, but it would require more work, and the choices may end up being too similar. Still, the option is also on the table.)
