As of MEGAsync version 4.9.1, you can no longer get around the 5 GB download quota by using a VPN and restarting the app. Now, if you exit the app with an incomplete download, the download cache is cleared and you must restart the download when you re-open the app. At least this is the case on my machine. Perhaps there is a slight chance this is a bug introduced in the latest version, however I doubt it.
