i enjoyed it, but i wasn't impressed

This was another AVN that took me on a roller coaster ride. A decent story, but very convoluted with it's different plots and sub-plots, a huge cast, and a fairly long playthrough overall.

Originally I had it around a 3.0 at the start, as it was pretty slow to get going. It worked it's way up to a 4.2 or higher by midway (when we started using the dungeon as a new facility sparsely). But by the end of the story, I was left with a very hard decision as most people are - who to choose? It was a decent party to attend, and had some good sex scenes (I tried several of the endings with different girls).

Spoilers ahead...

But ultimately, I didn't like the ending - it was entirely TOO unrealistic. The 10th lord of the realm was hosting a large party with quite a few nobles there who he assumes are his enemies, and he retires to a tent with his (chosen) girl(s), and has absolutely NO guards around? It just blew all credibility and immersiveness in one fell swoop, and I almost completely tuned out for the last little bit of the story after that.

Due to the way it ebbed and flowed, with so many different people, plots, sub-plots, and utter departures from rational storytelling (people just didn't behave like any normal person would), it ended up a 2.9 rating for me. Quite simply put - the ending ruined everything that came before.

It's worth playing if you realize that you can't do anything to stop the utterly stupid decisions at the end, and if you can slog through a lot of storytelling and exposition.

Other features of note (+ are positive, - are negative):
+ Sex scenes are usually long enough to satisfy
+ Varied cast of LIs can vary in body type just enough to entertain
+ Personalities are markedly different, and decently written
+ The few chances we get to punish some female characters is fun

- Renders are outdated and shallow due to Honey Select, and little use of shadows
- There's a lot of "gating" of content that requires other stuff finished first
- There are a LOT of sex scene angles that show nothing (making it rated R)
- Some LIs that are supposed to be "available" for sex, are not at all, ever.
- Missing scenes that the MC is supposed to attend, never happen
- One of the least believable endings I've seen in an AVN.
- Some of the harem endings cut some of the LIs out of the scenes (seriously?)
- Mina was supposed to provide herself to us fully, but never appeared as an option. I find this a critical lack of content, due to taking away her predecessor.

---- As a serious negative for the game, certain people that we should be able to punish, were not available in any way to do so. And people we had locked up for punishment, weren't available to be interacted with.

I'm not sure if I'll be playing the sequel or not after the disappointing finish of the first game. Even if I do, I won't be supporting it due to the taste this one left in my mouth when it was said and done.

The effort from the developer was there, but there's just too much departure from rational behavior, missing scenes, poor camera angles, lack of lighting, and so on to really give it any more than the 2.9 it ended with. I hope the sequel fares better, but from what I've read the MC starts out more of an errand boy with less of a spine than he had in the first game. Not sure I'll find out in the end..

Great job by the dev to make each potential candidate feel like they have a personality and not just a copy/paste of each one. Story is entertaining as well as I found myself wanting to try and figure out each persons ambitions.

This game is so massive, with so many characters, kinks, themes, and ideas that it's honestly intimidating to write a review for this without it ending up 5000 words.

This review will have some spoilers because you sometimes want to know what you’re getting into before committing to such a long game.

TL;DR- A very unique experience, one of the only games on this site that really feels like you’re playing a proper political story with plenty of ACTUAL twists, turns, and worldbuilding. There’s also lots of sex with lots of people.

Pros:
I mean it has some originality and for some reason it attempts to build deep in-game lore but....

Cons:
Story. It's just a bunch of (mostly) unrelated story lines. It's not a consistent, well-written story with development of relationships with LI. Main character just goes and fucks everything that he can see (sure, after two brief chit-chats with them prior. We're not some barbarians animals after all). Let's just say the author chose quantity over quality
Sound. Yeah, it has some BGM but what's the point if there's NO sounds during H-scenes? At least you could add some cheap (or even free) stock female moans, no? Do I ask so much from a developer with a f*cking in-game list of patreon supporters?
Renders. Okay I guess? I mean you technically can fap on it but what's the point if you have no (absolute zero) attachment to so called "Love Interests" here? Also h-scenes themself are really meh (really short, no sound and you have no attachment to these "dolls")

Overall I mean I'd call it just as some collection of assets with animations in it, so two stars for it at least but nothing really more. It's not disgusting or smth. It's just really disappointing "game". This game doesn't want to tell you a story or bring something new in the genre. It's just some bunch of animated models with poor writing in between with the only point to exist is to sell it to some lowly coomers

I really enjoyed this game (2.02 + 0.03 of WT origins). Loads of content and interesting characters/storylines.

The story is well written, complex and fleshed out, but that does come with some downsides. I'm not sure how meaningful choices can really be in the long term? Not something that bothers me, but the story is too intertwined for decisions to constantly alter it. I'd go as far as to say that decisions should probably be started afresh with the new game, just re-doing major ones such as LI choices (i.e. who you picked at the festival).

The sandbox is ok with the fast travel feature, but there's so much content that you can't rely on it to see all the various scenes and activities (especially side quests). Also sometimes you need to sandbox in order to progress the fast travel plots because they don't show up

My only major gripe is that the genderbending Ezra doesn't have more prominence. Also the final festival scene with Ezra didn't really seem to align with that particular path and was a disappointment

Here's hoping that wartribe origins progresses apace!

Well, I just played version 2.0.1, and I have to say that it's been quite a ride!

From the technical perspective, the game has some flaws that while they are not deal breakers get to be annoying:

• There is no hint system for the sandbox part of the game, and the player has to click around until a new scene is shown.
• The notes/document state the end of content for the version, but then you can still find scenes related to the characters with the end of content message.
• Since there are no hints, some story-impacting decisions can be made without the player knowing.

But other than that, there are only good points:

• The render quality is good enough. Maybe not the best out there, but good enough to give a sense of immersion and to be quite enjoyable.
• The story is incredibly well written, consistent, logical, flows naturally, and engaging.
• Well-developed characters, each one has a unique relationship development with the MC.
• Each character has its lore and culture, which intertwines perfectly with the rest of the cast. They also evolve while interacting with the MC and each other.
• The harem story is not cracking under its weight! This is particularly amazing, as most of the harem-based games tend to break the consistency of the narrative due to the weight of having too many love interests, needing to spend too much time in porny scenes to keep the audience engaged, and tend to lose the sense of the main arc and story. I can barely count a few out there, and for this being the first game of the developer, I consider it a remarkable achievement.

My only concern is the continuation of the story due to the complications IRL for the developer, and I'd really love to see where this is going.

All in all, I'd subtract half or maybe 1 star due to the few flaws this game has, but since they are not that bad, and the story achievements this game has are more than worthy of having a bit of discomfort, I'll round it to 5 stars.

In a nutshell, the story line is great. With the implementation of Fast Travel, it helps greatly with the main story line (or waifus).
The thing that is lacking are hints for the side stories.
Don't know if some of the main story is/are dependent on the progression of some of the side stories. IMHO, why put it there if people don't know about it.

I did like the story but some parts just dosent make any kind of sense which in turn ruined the story for me, its also a kinetic story where the only freedom you have is what order you do quests in, but your forced to follow all girls quests to progress story, which means it will include rape, LIs forced on you and not just all the main girls others as well, so think of it as a mindless fuckfest game with no choices.

Right from the start you see one of your potential wifes getting attack by a thug and instend of attacking MC calls for the guards? to make it worse he then see him a min later and listen in on him talking with someone who set up the ambush and he said he has a letter which would prove who he was hired by and what does MC do....he freaking walks away thinking it might be a good idea to get that letter since it might be worth something? what? MC is a barbarian a warrior so why the fuck does he act like a cowardly chicken? go kick hes ass take letter problem fixed....awfull writting stright from the get go.

To make it even worse if you want to get revenge on the bitch sister your forced to fuck her??? why? a plan is made to let a servant fuck her but you cant make that choice you can only take the servants place and fuck her then leave? its absolutly insane i wouldent want to touch her ass with a 10ft pole after what she did to MCs potential wife and thats the only way to get payback on her? its brainless.

Also MC is supposed to be looking for a wife but your never given the choice to dump anyone you dont like, instend you can follow along on a questline to fuck em all, game truely needs alot better choices when it comes to this part, i mean you have a lesbian whos in a relationship with someone and wants nothing to do with MC and yet MC is only thinking about getting closer to her instend of dumping her, not even when you see her having sex with someone else can you dump her, i mean whats the point of the game if you cant truely pick your wife and dump those you dont want?

It would have made for a so much better game if you could walk in on them tell her to go pack her things and leave your house, i simply just dont understand why that isent even an option, hell you dont even confront her about it??? story just loses its meaning, MC even lets the potential wifes lover move in and work for MC? why the fuck would he want her anywhere near someone he might marry? knowing shes already cheated once in her last relationship? how the hell do something like that even make any sense, but it shows how submissive and brainless MC really is i guess...

As for the girls its also a bit meh, i mean they look ok but the builds are pretty much the same so it really lack in diversity which is to bad, personaly im not really into big tits in any way and theres not a single one with smaller tits as for the main girls, well maybe the lesbian but i dont see her as a real LI, and to make it perfectly shitty even Reah the lesbian girl gets her boobs made huge, i mean wtf the one girl with close to normal tits? and you cant say no only skip the option its kinetic and awfull to make a pure big tit fetish game.

Out of 5 main girls one is a lesbian another is BI and you will see both of them have sex with another girl as well, so they are out of the runnings as a wife atleast for me anyway, it just feels idiotic that a girl who wants to marry MC starts having sex with another girl right infront of him without asking MC about it first, its so importen for her to become MCs wife so risking that just makes 0 sense for the story.

And to make it a bit more stupid, its also pretty much rape in the Magna scene, since Magna blindfolds a girl and move MC into the room to fuck her without the girl ever giving concent to be fucked by MC, aka pretty clear cut rape case and they should add the tag for that as well, it could have been so easy to fix with a simple choice to say no to it...

And ofcause you cant just dump her right there and then either which i would have loved to do...instend your forced to fuck/rape some random girl? which is just to weird since you have had options to turn down girls before but now game starts forceing them on you and thats just a big no go for me, i hate forced LIs in a game with choices, might as well make it kinetic.

Twins story is also awfull, i mean why is MC brainless to accept the twin that works with the mother and tried to kill off the first sister to take her place?
MC just say "i guess ill risk it" wtf? how about sending her back, kill her, kill the evil mother that kills human kids i mean why on earth is MC so submissive and a complete idiot, its no fun playing him at all.

Its also pushing the NTR limit quite a bit, you can say sure they arent in a relationship so its not lesbian NTR when you catch one of your potential wives having sex with someone, but you also have Ezra who you can have a sexual relationship with and still get to see her getting fuck by a Futa spirit thing, so yeah...its up to you to make the dession if its NTR to you or not, some can be avoided some can not.

Virgin scenes are truely piss poor, MC can fuck a virgin rough without her having any pain what so ever, no blood either so for the virgin/deflower fans theres really nothing to come for either, which is kinda funny since almost if not all girls are virgins and all without exception fucks like a 2$ whore not even remotely close to give any kind of virgin vibe and given how big a thing it is in the game its sad to see so little effort put into making it more real.

There is a relationship system of some kind but where it tells you when your relationship with someone goes up, the thing is its bullshit you can have 0 points with someone and it changes nothing.

I think i will stop talking about the story now, you can see the lack of choices and how brainless and cowardly MC is by now to give you an idea of how this game is.

I dident really find them hot and with the lack of diversity it dident help either, there are a few with smaller builds but they arent real LIs and not some you can marry.

Pretty standard not great not bad either, alot of scenes do have really bad cam views though.

When game started to force LIs on you as the player and not being able to say no to join sex/rape scene made it feel to kinetic instend of a choice driven game.

Dev does have the potential to make great stories, but really need to pay alot more attention to choices, so the players arent forced into things they dont want.

WA, I've played this game for sometime now. Everything's good. The graphics, the stories, the characters and even the modes. All are good. Especially the story, it's very emotional at some points. Lots thing have changed since the first release. It's good though. I gotta say give it a try and you'll see what I meant.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit, enough to give it the max rating.

Pros:
+Cute girls, and a variety of girls, some for almost any preference
+Enjoyable banter and conversations. I never felt like I was slogging through content
+Backstory makes for an interesting situation. I never felt like the backstory was overwhelming other parts of the game, but it gave a nice context to the action
+No grind or annoying repetition of scenes/actions. (e.g. no need to get 5 blow jobs before having sex)
+Most girls' bodies are visually distinct: have big tits, flat chests, animal ears, tattoos, etc.

Cons:
-The MC can feel a little like a non-character at times. Would have been cool to have some scenes about what he does outside of wooing girls to get a bit more of a feel for who he is
-Occasionally, the story can feel a bit disjointed when moving between events (e.g. I'll click on the city, and end up seeing a scene back in the academy involving my character. Not sure if this is a bug or by design)

Personal Preference:
~Animation is nice, but can be a little janky at times. I still think it's better than not having any animation
~Need to progress all the girls to advance the story, can't skip girls you don't like (although you can skip a lot of scenes if you don't want to see them, especially for side characters)
~Some of the girls (especially for those that are virgins) seem to be ready to sleep with the MC quite fast

Overall, a nice little fun romp spent with a host of girls trying to get in your pants for various reasons, with a fun sprinkling of fantasy stuff on top of the swords and spells setting.

As of Version 1.8.0 Public

I enjoyed the entire playthrough of the game. The plot is interesting and the girls have fairly unique personalities. Some of the animations are janky. The music is ok. The game is sandboxy, choices do matter. However, the story progression of different characters is interlinked so you cannot ignore a certain character.

The most favorite part of mine were Ezra's gender-bend arc, Magna's and Rhea's plotlines.

There are a few issues though:
Primarily, the MC's backstory is not explored much, which I would like.
Secondly, the gallery has only animations which is underwhelming. To watch scenes we need to have saves making it cumbersome. I have a suggestion here, maybe the scenes could be added to the brothel dream room as another category like "Memories".

This game still makes it into my favorites though. Would recommend playing to anyone who likes this art style.

This review will be shorter than usual as I did not finish the game, only managing a couple hours of gameplay.

The spelling and grammar is okay and the girls are reasonably attractive, and there's an innocuous music soundtrack playing during most scenes.

The problem is that both the story and adult content are low quality. Genitalia are often noticeably out of sync during animations and the scenes are over all too quickly. Because you're romancing so many different love interests it's already difficult getting too attached to them, and the issues with the adult scenes led to none of the scenes working for me as the uncanny valley was too distracting. Writing during the adult scenes was also lackluster, and there were very few renders in-between different animations. The replay gallery contains just animations alone without the accompanying story making them all but useless, and while I only managed to get through two hours of the "story", checking the gallery confirmed that I wasn't missing anything as the adult content didn't improve later on.

The story is so-so. A thin veneer of a country at war which serves only as an excuse to bed multiple women who want to curry favor, devolving into a not-so-robust dating sim template that wasn't particularly appealing.

Not much else to say. I won't be finishing this one.

I'll start by saying that I like fair few girls in this one, and actively disliked others. And that's where my problem with the game lies...you can't refuse girls.

Oh, you can skip a scene or two, but after that MC will decide this girl is amazing and he'll have sex with her...few times, no player input asked.

Kind of kills the point of the story (choose a best bride, resolve mystery).

Sex scenes are (mostly) fairly good, story is just a filler so H scenes can happen, and girls get added constantly.

Strongly recommended if you're looking for H content, not recommended if you're looking for a game where choices impact anything or if you're looking for story in general.

STORY 7/10
Asian medieval themed, with lil bit of magic and supernatural being touch. simple and on point, you are a prince of a war tribe and you got to choose your princess and dive into their story so they will want to marry you and strengthen your tribe. Its simply dating pre marriage game. what i see seem to be lacking is the mc own story, the story seem too focus on the dating girls, maybe some touches in building mc own story, mc own tribe problem will strengthen mc core story as a war tribe future leader. I just slightly cant accept that my existence as mc is just to marry a girl while neglecting my duty.

GAMEPLAY 7/10
quite sandboxie yet simple but no grinding. anti grind gamer gotta feel glad. i like the freedom of pursue LI you want and ignore LI you dont really into. the non existence of time setting is quite odd but it also provides less restriction as you can keep rolling with an LIs events without restraint of time. As i dug into the game, i knew i like ezra story and I just dug in until her (supposably?) end of story for this version lol. I think some event trigger ties between some LIs but i feel there are even more LIs event that is independent, so yeah aside of option that can turn down LI you can also avoid LI if you are not into them, nothing forced which is cool.

GRAPHIC 7/10
art is ok. its good. slightly beyond good but not by that much. theres enough variety of pose when having conversation or pose to support the conversation and moments. altho i found some scenes frame cut are odd. some of them couldve been zoomed out or modified to be more adequately presentable. for example a scene which shows LI full body but the genital part is like cut by half. an extra 1 point for providing post coital bliss moment in almost every sex scenes, i wish these moment scene polished some more, with proper animation of post coital bliss moment that will be another 1 point in my book. Another 1 point if virgin LIs are properly shown as virgin with proper virgin bleed moment or ending which currently void.

UI 7/10
setting ui is typical renpy ui. nothing special. as for in game ui its simple and easy to explore. the extra area where theres chicken coop(?) is too gimmicky for now, its an extra area but theres only one accessible spot. wouldve been less gimmicky if there are more accessible spot in the future and not just this one but also other town sub area which can provide repeatable spicy scene with extra characters like massage parlor or the brothel. there arent that many extra elements of ui implemented because flag/stats information implemented in a way to reduce graphical elements for example LIs relation status.

THE SEGGS 8/10
id say there are enough contents to help anyone fap. for this amount of development id say its quite rich. with the freedom of pursuing LI you want, ignore others, and the no time restraint, its even faster to just keep rolling with the LI that you want. its also interesting that some LI that are not listed as major LI also have decent story to back them up. the scenes duration and built up also good, i wish theres more dirty/bed talk, or some spicy narrative to describe the joy of sex and built up the heat even more, and the closure which mostly end with the show of post coital bliss moment also makes it proper and perfect.

Subjectively,
what make me give a 5* is i have a favorite character here that is not even major LI which is Ezra. As a devoted fan of genderbending fetish, Ezra story is just right up my alley, the submissive genderbendered slave - master relationship. Fortunately, even though she is not major LI she is packed with decent story that seem to be still developing, and hopefully her story leveled up to be equal with major LI amount of story level because she is unique.

Her existence alone in this game rise this game position into my personal top 20, and top 5 of genderbender/trap/futa LI game. it could been higher if there is glamour to choose whether you want to keep her as trap, genderbendered or even futa character. it will surely be trickier with the scenes, or even introduce more branches.

so far theres seem to be no red flagged corrupted kink like incest, ntr, gay, shemale or wilder tags altho some couldve been slip in into some events naturally. with that being said, this game quite pure in fetishes so i recommend this game for wider audience who afraid of highly debated kinks since this game is quite mild, even vanilla audience.

This game has plenty of story and content. Its kind of a harem honey select game. The game is fine and I had no problem with it, I just don't find the characters appealing. Other than that, a good game, just not my cup of tea. Can't really fap to this. Good luck to the dev tho. Before I go a few notes, the text box needs to go, it obscures a lot of the good parts of the scenes. This game needs voices, moaning's, whatever, just add some extra sounds. And also add some sexy music, listening to the same track over and over and over gets old.

Someone once said, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time." I know there are those who do not like this game, but that is the reason I opened with that quote, do not let any negative view deter you from doing what you enjoy, because you cannot make everyone happy,

With that I would like to say that I love this game! It has such a variety of events, interactions and the freedom to pretty much go in any direction with one or multiple events and still maintain continuity to the game no matter which direction you decide to go is amazing to me. I am definitely becoming a contributing supporter and look forward to what is yet to come.

So, why the 2?

I rather enjoy the premise of this game, the setting and plot is intriguing at first.

What however does drag it down is that it slowly but surly become bipolar in nature.
What I mean with this is that conversations with characters flip around so often it becomes confusing.
What is in one conversation a secret, is in the next conversation public knowledge, with no explanation of why or how.
What is explained just minutes earlier, is in the next scene though about like "oh right you wern't told", except you were, by the exact same person, just moments ago.


This is prevalent the longer you progress in the game. It loses its coherency as you go on. And if you only played it occasionally, every few updates or so, it might not be very noticeable. But if you went through it in one go as I did, it becomes incredibly confusing.
The game contradicts previously established points quite often. It is also something that is quite annoying.

Things that were set in place far earlier in the game is just missing in the current later parts of the game. It's like its shown, explained and then forgotten.

Then there is also the fact that the MC in question is about as much of a character as a wet blanket.
No matter what happens, what people say or do towards the MC, MCs reaction and response is... none. Its the kind of person you can slap with a trout and they would just go "oh well" and shrug. Which is both annoying and rather dull. No matter what is done towards the MC there is never a reaction to it. There is no personality to it and there is far from enough choice to create your own personality. So it ends with just, nothing. MC just accept anything and everything. And thats just not particularly interesting.

There is a good premise, and I would like to think there is potential as well. I did after all play through all the current content (1.5.1) and was interested enough to do that continuously. But it simply dropped the ball, and at this point, it would need some rather hefty retcons to fix this loss of coherency and continuity.

This one definitely surprised me as usually I am not a fan of Honey Select games or games that have sandbox in them but based on my friend's suggestion I decided to give this one a try. Although the start of the story was pretty weak but it just kept getting better as the story progressed. As for the LIs in this game, I liked all of them which was a genuine surprise. Each one of their stories are very different and I love that how deep some of their backstories were. The only complaint I have is that there a few sequences where the MC becomes too soft and let other characters completely walk over him which would have been fine if he was a normal guy but here it just didn't make sense. Also Luce needs some character development as she is the weakest LI as of current release and also I would love if we could summon Ezra and Josie as well in MC's bedroom.
