Very dumb question but what does the "watch"option? Does it informs you if the game has been updated?

Oh thanks for the clarification, is there a way to know if the game i like is being updated (besides going to the game page everytime to check), like an alarm?

I wanted to bump this.
Is it feasible to add a new watch option to only watch for edits of the first post of a game thread, rather than any new posts?
Context: when you watch a thread you get tons of notifications for every single new post, and not for any updates to the first post. For some threads you just care if the game was updated or not. This would improve UX a lot for me and others.
I'll submit a ticket.
