v0.0.15
Synopsis
Fairly generic setup of portalling girls from various intellectual properties to serve in your establishment, with you needing to corrupt them. Much less romance than some others with more focus on sharing. Definitely not a management game, much more VN with some simulation elements.
Positives
-Good art. I prefer still CG's with nice, consistent artwork over sloppy or repetitive animations any day.
-Girls are aesthetically well-designed. Most have normal-ish boob sizes which is definitely a plus for me.
-English is strong with only a couple of typos. Storyline is coherent and the dialogue is generally natural sounding.
-Not grindy. I'm not counting the two most recent girls, since the dev explicitly said that they will now add more content for them. I think given this it's fairer to go by the first two girls as an indication of play:scene ratio and for them I was getting a scene every few days. However, this only holds true if they keep to the 5 main girls- if the MC adds another floor for 6 more newbies this would be a massive step in the wrong direction.
-Surprising amount of detail. There's variations for most scenes depending on corruption level and many other minor but appreciated touches. I especially enjoyed the clothing progression
-I only had one bug- 4th girl disappearing in the evenings which was only a minor annoyance.
Negatives
-My main UI complaint would be that the clothes store could use an indicator to show when a new item is available.
-As I said in my synopsis, tagging this as management puts people like me who like grindy, intricate managers on the wrong foot from the start. There's no hard choices about resource allocation or which girl serves which client. That's fine as long as people go in expecting things to be more VN heavy with the only choice being in what order things progress.
-Honestly, after the first three (esp 2+3) girls being a little off-beat, the final two were disappointing in being done to death. I know that was by vote, but democracy can suck at times.
-This game is comparable to Void Club and Park after Dark in setup and content. But I was much more attached to those games, despite them having lower production values and being, respectively, buggy and grindy/unfocused, where this didn't quite hit the mark. I think it's a combination of there being no real narrative peril, a rather bland MC/girls and the aforementioned non-management management. The first is obvious- there's no threat of eg. bankruptcy or the inquisition, so there's no urgency. Secondly, the most I can say for the MC is that he doesn't fall into the loser trope. Otherwise he is not evil, but he's not particularly principled, he's just milquetoast. Being unable to make any personality choices doesn't help this either. Thirdly, there's no sense of building a castle from nothing in a swamp on top of the first 3 that fell into the swamp- everything's just handed to you by following the story. Finally, the girls change so much that I didn't grow particularly fond of any of them. Perhaps extra content can fix these but I'm doubtful.
So basically, pleasant content for a few hours with some genuinely good moments, but as it stands, ultimately forgettable.
