Don't want to sound like I'm dismissing your opinion, but I ask myself often why people are so offended about different types of story. Not every porn game needs to be an aspirational nobel prize winning novel. SoA, MNGf, MrL, CoM all read more like comics, with all the caricature and exaggeration you expect therein. They've maintained consistency in that regard, across multiple updates. Even the exaggerated, sexualized art fits the comic style, where physical traits are iconic rather than realistic. Susie's butt in MrL looks great... Kardiashian butts are the stuff of nightmares. As far as visual consistency and story tone goes, the AI workflow suits light fantasy pretty well, imho. For some reason, I find The Shrink's DAZ characters very distracting, with their exaggerated curves, more than Windvale or From Wife to Wench, possibly because the 3D renders are a bit more realistic and that creates a different expectation.
Again, I'm not saying everyone has to like everything. Personally I'm very much ok with some comic and erotic fantasy, sometimes the pretence of achieving a greater realism is what makes stories fall apart, imho. I lost count of the times I got the reply "consensual sharing is not realistic, leads to break up 90% of the time, so get ready for the cheating part" in multiple sharing game threads on this site. IRL, fantasy easily becomes illusion, illusions shatter, that's great if you want a dark story, but doesn't really work on eroticism except in pure romance and purely dark paths. I'm aware that this stag/vixen type of "middle ground" is rare irl, as is probably swinging that actually works, so I pick these types BECAUSE they're not realistic, and come to the game ready to accept different rules. Not being serious is an advantage, in my book, if it prevents going into character self-doubt, remorse, hesitation, missed opportunities, angst, couple fights, cheating, revenge and all that crap that usually packs with the "ntr" tag.
Regardless, some games have more of a story that's not centred on the main characters' relationship dynamics, than others and it's ok to prefer one over the other. SoA does have a mystery plot, although it seems to serve the purpose of creating a looming threat on Luke and Alice's relationship, which is still the focus. But it never advertises anything different, you know what to expect after a few scenes. Ideally, each game should set up the right expectations from the start, and I find that to be the case of every game I mentioned in this post, regardless of their different takes on story vs. sexy times.
