About Celestina, in 0.4 I made the sex scene optional. The only bits that you will have to do if you want to play Holly's story are the vag under the table and the kiss (a small and necessary price, in my opinion, to save Holly).
Every hero has to makes sacrifices. And think of the experience (about 120years of it I'd reckon).

I have to agree with the one you replied to. There's something sexy and pretty about a woman's nails, especially when there's nail polish on them... maybe we're just weird tho I don't know.
It was I
And I will admit, all things considered, I probably do count as weird

Well, there is a reason that so many women paint their nails...

I don't think we have any actual chubby women in WaL... atleast as of yet. Gretta would probably be the closest to it but I wouldn't call her chubby but more very curvy and/or voluptuous. I can't wait for her to get her questlines later down the line.

Unlocked

Hi everybody.
I hope you are all doing well and are ready for the weekend. Here's a summary of what we did last week:

Chestnut:
She worked on several more backgrounds, doing more sketches, and designing and drawing the final result. She also started working on Lana's sprite (her hair and a few facial expressions) and finished one of the cutscenes from the first event of the release (involving Lana doing something sexy in a ).

Pistachio:
I finished the story's structure, and although there are one or two events that I'm not too happy with and will probably change later, I think the base is good enough to move on to writing and come back and modify it once we have the first draft. I also did other coding tasks like the first version of the hints for 0.5 and new bag items. I have barely begun the writing tasks, but I'm glad that I could start them this week.

Next week's plan:
Chestnut will continue working on the backgrounds and cutscenes. Right now, we're doing the first event in the release, and she's constantly alternating between different types of artworks needed for it. For the next week, she wants to move on to the events that introduce Simmone.
I will spend the whole week trying to advance as many writing tasks as possible. Ideally, I can have the first draft ready by the end of this month, but it's hard to plan these things as some scenes prove trickier to write than others (and vice versa).

Looking for a sketch artist:
As you probably know, 2D artworks take an incredible amount of time to design and create, and in order to speed things up, we want to test and see if we can find talented sketch artists to help Chestnut with these tasks.
We're going to post announcements on our Discord server (and perhaps on Reddit and other social media) asking for sketch artists to send Chestnut their portfolio together with a clean sketch of the market.
A few points:
  • We are only looking for a sketch artist producing clean and detailed sketches (no colors).
  • The sketches will be for the interior and exterior of buildings and no sprites or cutscenes.
  • We're not looking to hire anyone or add anyone to our team; this will be a commission only.
  • If we end up finding a suitable artist, Chestnut will make sure that all of the new artworks have the same style and feel of what is already in the game.
  • This is a test to see if commissioning someone speeds up the art creation process or Chestnut ends up spending more time correcting and coordinating.
Anyway, we thought that you guys should know this before we publicly announce it. So let us know what you think and if you know a sketch artist who might be interested, send them to our Discord server, where we will soon announce this job.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Cheers

It'll be very interesting to see how this goes and I really hope they'll succeed to make it work. Speeding up the art would be the biggest step the game could make going forward, but at the same time it seems to be the hardest part by far.

There is Celestina. Maybe you can talk the dev into making the glasses optional.

Spent a few hours playing the game through on the current public release. Gotta say the game feels similar to Treasures of Nadia, in that the Art is pretty amazing, but the game is suffering severely from the "artists trying to be game designers" syndrome. I love the setting, generic fantasy and smut, goes together really well.

But I wish there would be a more compelling game.

A simple RPG progression with a turn-based combat system might really be fun. Choices that matter in dialogue and in general more focused and denser writing are hard to do I know and it's kinda cheap criticism, but here I am. As of now, it's mostly "click the hotspots to see the pretty pictures", and I think it can be better! Great even.

I would also like to use this post for a PSA: Whenever the music in a porn game is lacking or missing, just mute the game and put on some romantic fantasy playlist on youtube. Generally better than the in-game music ^^
Your feedback is completely fine and valid, since it's what you want out of a game. But please understand that what you want is not the same as what everyone wants. I'm not looking for RPG statbuilding or a combat system in my romantic games. I do play RPGs and shooters and strategy games on my Xbox, but that's not what I'm looking for in a romantic/erotic game. Your feedback feels to me like suggesting that the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" needed a high speed chase scene and explosions. I do love me some explosions, but not in EVERY movie.

I like WaL the way it is. It's an erotic adventure game that I can enjoy without devoting too much of my scarcest resource (time) to it. I'll get my RPG combat out of Legacy of the Beast...

Point and click adventures haven't been popular for years so they might not know of the genre. Monkey Sword or Broken Island might not be games they've ever played. There is probably a whole decade of casual gaming people who know nothing but GTA, COD and Fortnite so soon every Dev is going to get swamped with "I want to shoot people" no matter the game setting or style.

I have literally never, ever seen this complaint for a porn game even once in my entire life. Not once. Maybe it is my lack of time spent looking at feedback (as generally looking at other people's opinions on a third party's projects are kind of irrelevant to me anyway), but I reckon it doesn't really happen.

Also, what planet do you live on? With Steam and GOG and whatnot, the indie gaming scene (which includes a lot of point-and-click adventures) is literally in a golden age, and besides that, porn games in general get much more money (especially money that goes directly in the pockets of the people putting in the effort to making them) than the people involved in the development of regular games, which includes regular indie games that don't include the extra enticing option of pornographic content (and, trust me, there is no easier way to get people to give you money for a minimum amount of effort than adding porn to it), yet those still keep getting made, sometimes to the outright monetary detriment of the developers. Some people just like to do what they do and are fine with appealing to smaller demographics in general.

At the end of the day, whether MagicNuts deserve more remuneration for the game or not is a separate issue, but I don't think the project is starving of monetary compensation (admittedly, I guess this depends on where the developers live and how their living costs are, and if they are struggling, then I'll rescind most of what I've said in this post) and I can promise you that the people that come to this forum or find out about What a Legend from somewhere else and/or stumble upon their Patreon are definitely (and I mean this to apply nigh-universally) not looking for a CoD or a Fortnite or to shoot people. Nobody ties the fun and test of skill of a shooter game to their horniness, unless they are in such an insignificant sect of psychopathy that nobody needs to (or should) cater to them anyway.

Why only Myrtle content reeeeeeeeeeee

Art's fuckin' bangin' though.
Only? You have more erotic scenes here than in all previous updates[...]

Mate, if you didn't understand the meaning of "only Myrtle" in my comment, then I don't know what to tell you. I thought what I wrote wasn't ambiguous in any way. I think this game is fantastic, and I'm not one of those people who's going to give shit to such a great developer (unless they abandon the project completely), but that wasn't the point of my comment at all. Just a little personal nod to the fact that Myrtle's far from my favourite girl in the game, that's all.

Lol I thought my post was quite obviously a joke but it allowed you to vent 3 paragraphs so I'm glad it was helpful to your mental well being.

I enjoy writing on a keyboard, what can I say.

Also, my mental well-being's pretty good, especially when I know that I am at least capable of making better jokes than you (and I say "better" rhetorically; your comment wasn't - nor did it come off - as a joke in any way, shape or form, and you're just deflecting after you were called out for a shit comment), so thanks for that, buddy. Points still stand; maybe next time you make humourless jokes that put forth a contention, you'll do better than just needlessly insult people.

Lol use your super brain to re read the game names, maybe that will tip you off because the obviously exaggerated tone of the rest of the post was lost on you.
