Well, SummertimeSaga has some absolutely hillarious scenes that had me on the floor, a lot of them on WaL level. So the dev has definitely a good sense of humor - but that one depiction doesn´t fit at all.....because it´s not remotely funny..... it´s like that one lame kid in class making a crude tasteless joke and trying hard to be funny. But the only thing he gets is people rolling their eyes. :-/ I had the same reaction when i saw that scene.

Yeah, people do in porn games stuff they never would do in real-life, not even remotely even given the opportunity (i once declined a one night stand with a MEGABABE - not exaggerating- because she was married), it´s just fantasy fun not to be taken serious at all. But if somebody doesn´t get the difference between these things and that problematic-depiction then i won´t even try to explain it to them, if they don´t get something as simple as that. :)

And nope, even people that don´t take their religion too serious (and are not angels, mormons or mother theresas) have a problem with that kind of depiction. It´s like when your relationship with your parents are not the best, you might not do what they like and whatever, but still they are your parents and when someone tries to make a mockery out of them, you step up, they are still family.

It should be an unwritten rule, that is followed by everybody that any Realworld-Religion shouldn´t be made part of a porn-game, there are lines that shouldn´t be crossed.
It´s like having Sex......while it´s natural and normal, you wouldn´t do it infront of your parents.....Some things just shouldn´t be mixed and matched....

NEVER.
I think we will have to agree to strongly, strongly disagree. First of all, just because you think it isn't funny doesn't mean that everybodies sees it that way. I liked it. It's an innocent joke and it's not like Angelica is using the statue as some kind of wall dildo, gives it a BJ or such.
As said, people can't have it both ways im my opinion. If someone can abstract stuff like incest, adultery, etc. because it's a game, fantasy and fun, he just can't just draw some arbitraty line and stop once religion is involved (in the most innocent way) and expect to be taken serious. As said, people who think like that should be honest to themselves and never touch these kind of games again. Either one is consistent or one isn't. But maybe it's indeed very typical for most religions to only be consistent when it suits a specific narrative, I don't know.

And no, it should indeed be obvious that everything and everyone can be joked about about. Religion really isn't anything special compared to let's say strong political believes and once you start to suppress opinions, you'll soon reach a point where you won't be able to depict anything because somebody will alwasy be offended.

But then again, that's not a topic for this forum.

PS: Just as a last point, if parents don't treat and raise their children well, they certainly deserve to be mocked. The respect of a child has to be earned, it's nothing that could and should ever be taken for granted. If someone has been a bad parent, their child certainly doesn't owe them anything.

Why would you if you don't get along? After all, blood runs thicker than water. That right there says that friends are more important than family, and that saying is so old people have forgotten its meaning.

Don´t know what you mean, because that saying states exactly the opposite of what you´ve written. ;-)

It´s like when your relationship with your parents are not the best, you might not do what they like
You and the other dude obviously missed in what context i wrote that and -WHAT- exactly i wrote. I simply meant that even if the "parent" is disappointed in you (rightfully so), you still wouldn´t like to see your "parent" mocked.

But whatever, the discussion is going nowhere really, so i guess we´ll leave it at that...

They may be referring to "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb", to say that there are bonds stronger than familial bonds. I've seen that repeated before as a kind of "lost meaning" of the phrase.

Thing is, according to Wikipedia anyway, those who originally claimed this to be its lost, original meaning apparently can't cite a source for this claim. Similarly, there is afaik no known instance the phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none, is certainly better than a master of one" predating just "Jack of all trades". The other two bits were added later, despite people claiming otherwise.

Ah, ok, i see. It changed meaning over time.

Still makes no sense in context to anything i´ve written.

Hi everybody.
I hope you're all feeling well and are ready to enjoy the weekend.
Poll results:
1636776974972.png

Last week we concluded a poll that asked Best Friend and Close Friend tier patrons to decide the name of a new character, and as you can see below, he will be called Jebediah.
1636776984998.png

Thank you to all of you who voted, and I hope you like the results.

Weekly report:
Chestnut:
Chestnut worked mostly on cutscenes, doing several artworks simultaneously and moving from one image to another. One of those cutscenes included an image featuring several women, and you can see the creation of that picture (we will probably share one more video from this artwork at a later stage of its creation since we're finding it difficult to record/share images that are not too spoilery from the earlier parts of the story).
Pistachio:
I focused exclusively on the story, writing the dialogues, and making several changes to improve the flow. I'm happy to say that I'm done with the first draft of all of the main writing.
What's next:
I will spend the next few days going through everything I've written and coded to make sure that the game works correctly and there are no major bugs. Although the dialogues are written, they need a great deal of polish before they're presentable, so I also intend to do the first round of editing. Aside from that, I will create a list of additional hands and facial expressions for Chestnut to work on so that once the editing is done, I can begin doing posing tasks.
Chestnut will continue her work on the cutscenes and the sprites. Rose's character needs many new facial features and hands, and ideally, Chestnut will have some of those necessary additions ready before we begin to pose the introductory scenes in the updates.

0.7 content poll
Next week, we plan to post the poll deciding the focus of 0.7. That will probably be the most important poll published in the next few months, and Best Friend and Close Friend tier patrons will be able to participate in it. So if you're interested in the future direction of WaL, stay tuned for that post.

That's all we have.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Cheers

It's one of those completely baseless retroactive explanations. Like the whole "akshually the army salute comes from knights lifting their visor" bs.
