Ren'Py - What a Legend! [v0.7.05] [MagicNuts]

Do yourself a favor and get this game. The artwork is fantastic. The dialogue that moves the story forward is through short conversations between characters not massive exposition dumps that are so boring you just click through, and there's real humor here! A few games claim to have "humor" that's too idiotic to be funny but many of the jokes and situations in this game made me laugh.
We're all here for the fap, and the women in this game are drawn exceptionally we'll. The lewd scenes are hot, the posing and physics are above the usual slamming together of genitals while everything else is static and dead.
Excellent play, no grind to pad out game time, no mother with 2 daughters that keep "knocking on the door" interrupting your progress with them until 38 updates later. There's a huge map and the 2 person dev team has plans for everything, this game will only grow and keep get better.

This game has it all.

+Some of the best artwork ever for a game like this. It is very expressive, very unique in a game like this and the characters (the ones that are supposed to) are all very charming looking and extremely sexy.

+Story is very well done and enjoyable to read through. It is light and very chill but still deep enough to be engaging.

+The humor in this game is very awesome. It never goes into the extremes where it is mean and expect you to laugh. It happens naturally and fits the game really well. No character is ruined because of bad jokes. They all hit the spot really well.

+Character are very charming. The MC in particular is really cool. He is one of those "dork" characters that can be a bit "dumb" but heroic when it counts. He is a horny guy but not in a bad kind of way. He knows when to show his horny side and when not to do that. His sex scenes feel earned. At no point did I think "ugh, this guy sucks". He was always great.

The love interests that are in the game are very cool and very different. Only two of them had gotten their stories but I am very sure that the other characters will be done justice. In their state as of now they are very great to interact with. Every love interest is sexy in their own way (aside from one who is a bit complicated).

The side characters do what they are written to do. Some of them are hate able, some don't stand out and some are very cool friends/bros. It is really enjoyable to interact with them and the hateable" characters as well due to some of the story events involving them. Play the game to figure out what this means!

+The world building is great and has tons of potential. As of this update it is not fully explorable but we are slowely getting to see more and more. The game teases some very interesting locations and I can only get hyped to explore them.

+The sound design and music are very good. They are not overdone and feel immersive. While exploring you usually get nature noises. Some segments have subtle music to set the mood. This is something that deserves lot's of praise. A lot of times games usually have really repetitive music that get old but not this game.

+The sex scenes are not gross or bland. They are just right. They have enough excitement but doesn't fall into the traps many games fall into which is when they try to make it sexy but go too far into the extreme. Due to the art, the scenes have very cozy vibe so they feel intimate and atmospheric. There are some scenes that are animated and those are not overdone. Characters move realistically (as much as 2D art can move really) and look good during it.

So yeah, one of the best games if not the best one on this site. Very well worth playing. It shouldn't be missed.

This game is delightful. It is well thought out, has a great storyline, awesome (and good-looking) female characters with good support from the male characters, and the MC is a good guy.
Something else I noticed...the lack of...there is no real grind, there are fairly straightforward quests with goals. The "help" function, functions as a help function.
The only con I can come up with is that the new versions aren't ready when I am. <chortle> So hurry up...but don't rush...

An amazing game through and through, you can feel the love and passion that went into making this game. Every character, every aesthetic is so meticulously crafted - it's one of the best games that I've ever played, let alone an adult game.
Kudos MagicNuts, keep it up. This game's updates are the 2nd mos anticipated thing for me - salary takes top spot still . But jokes apart, in F95Zone, this is the most anticipated game update for me.

I'm Using this website for almost 4 years and i played all kinds of games there is plenty of good games out there BUT this one is just BEST game out there i wrote this review on v0.4.01 content wise its good but potential of this game is just incredible there is 8 different region only half of one of them is accessible right now but even now its better than most of finished games. This game have great humor characters and interface too i hope developer of this game never drop this because this game might be one of the best adult games in history i will be supporter as soon as i can.

One of the best if not the best erotic game ever created and definitely the most polished and carefully crafted. The art here is just exquisite, the best there is, period. There are some really good competitors but most of them use the same models (with some slight changes) and 3D doesn't have the charm 2D has IMO. And among the 2D only Rise of the White Flower could compete, although it's still in a lower league (it's still one of the best games though). Writing and quests are very well written in What a Legend! and the game has really great atmosphere. If you go to the forest you really feel like you're in one and the village or any other location is just as well crafted.

Of course WaL is top notch in the erotic scenes department too. Myrtle scenes in the current update are beyond words and super hot (as are all previous scenes). Add great humour to it (Blizzard Entertainment and Toy Story cracked me up, as well as the drug MC gave Myrtle for sleep), decent amount of overall content and regular updates and you have a perfect game.

10/10 and my super rare sign of approval .

Truly a masterpiece in the making, So far the game has definitely done justice to its wonderful art by its witty story telling and humor, this update went far and beyond of the expectations set, I wish you guys the best of luck may you reach patreons heights, if you do infact manage to, I would love too see you guys hire Voice actors and perhaps more music and sound effects otherwise brilliant, this has potential to be perhaps one of the best eroge game of all time

What a Legend! is a charming, gorgeously drawn fantasy porn romp that knows exactly what kind of game it wants to be, and hits that target right in the center.

You are a kind-hearted but horny naif given a mysterious quest by a magical princess, that quickly spawns a web of sub-quests, all of which just happen to end up with you talking your way into the pants of a beautiful woman.

The only choices per se are whether you pursue the optional quests, and if I had a nitpick it would be the way the game repeatedly waves the illusion of branching conversations under your nose, but if you pick the "wrong" branch you are immediately railroaded back to the "right" choice. That said, there's nothing in the game that would be improved by relationship-points-chasing or a branching plot, so it's well left out.

It's weird to describe a porn game as wholesome, but that's the best adjective I can think of. If you're looking for edgy storytelling or boundary-pushing kinks you're not going to find them here. What you get instead is the porn equivalent of a prime-time sitcom. The characters are charming and distinct, the villains are cartoonishly villainous, the humor is pervasive but never cruel.

My only complaint is that now I have to wait for the next update.

The devs are super taleted and you can tell by playing WL that they can make a great game even out of the " Sexy realm ".

PROS .
- Visually is beautiful! environments, backgrounds the art style in general its very detailed and stunning.
- Characters are diverse and super engaging, and to put it simple some of the girls are smoking HOT!
- Gameplay is simple and easy and in this case is nice because you can take your time and focus on the story and dialogue that like everything else its engaging and pleasant.
- Smooth Animations
- Hud its well crafted and the feature to re-watch sceanes its perfect also good to see what its comming in the future updates.

Cons.
I truely have nothing bad to say, like a lot of things in life most of things can be based on your own taste but WL its undeniably good .
The only bad thing i can see is the wait to see the game completed .

it's already been said a lot of time, and I'll say it again. This game has some of the most beautiful and well made character designs. Specially for a porn game. The amount of effort put into making it clearly shows. The story is funny and interesting. Doesn't bores. Even the map isn't the regular looking map several games use.
Also, I'm a beginner artist and love environmental art, I totally dig this games environment art. Specially the ones beyond the ranch. The scenery is really beautiful. The different looks for diff time of the day. Specially love the night time one.
All in all, a great game with a lot of potential. You guys are doing great. keep up the good work.

Doesn't hit all my fetishes, but I really don't mind. This is an example of what a best-case-scenario looks like for designing an adult game in Ren'Py. Great character design. Fun storytelling with its own internal logic that fits the world created. Same with the dialogue. I'd play this even without the sex scenes, though let's be honest, that's half of what we're here for. The fact that those are done well also just makes this overall pretty great for a Ren'Py game with a very small dev team (Husband/Wife apparently). Great job, guys.

Edit: Forgot to mention all the design choices for maps, menus and other UI you can click in the scenes. Makes it feel like you're playing an actual game rather than a one-scene-to-the-next sex simulator, like so many other stories. Their work on these details adds a whole lot to the enjoyment.

So, I've played What a Legend, and it is time for a review.

Honestly, this game is amazing. I like pretty much all parts of it. The story is that you play as a dude who basically wants to fuck every woman he meets. It turns out that it isn't that straight forward.

The various women he meets will all have their own personalities, their agendas, problems and so on. It is very refreshing for a H-game to not be a "2-clicks to a porn scene-game". IE, it actually takes some effort to get anywhere with these women.

What is probably one of real strengths of this game is how it manage to fuse a light atmosphere with serious problems and a great humor. This game is hilarious in many of the scenes and the way it is made.

Though, this game is not a quick fap game. If all you want is a quick scene without too much work in-between - then this game won't be for you.

Alright, so let me break it down for fast(er) reading:

The Good:

• Great CG. It was clearly made by a skilled artist
• The art of the game looks beautiful with great attention to detail.
• Good humor, this game is really funny at times.
• Somewhat Deep characters. At least as deep as you can expect them to be in an H-game.
• You must put in an effort to impress the women.
• It's hilarious to see the overconfident MC come up with ridiculous solutions.

The In-between:

• It can at times be a bit difficult where to look for the stuff you need - but mostly not.

The Bad:

• I'm not sure if I can think of anything bad. Only that the game hasn't been developed more. But that will come in time.

I´m absolutely amazed at the art, design, story and everything of this game! (BTW remember to support the creators of this game, they absolutely deserve it

Very Polished and love the artwork. A game that is actually a game, rather than just contantly reading and clicking to progress. Love the different looks for all the characters. Feels immersive. Cant wait for the next update!

This is the best game of any found on this board to date. The art is excellent,the humor is genuine, and the design is superior. Developers should look to this game as something to model their own projects after.
