What are the "Must Play Games" of Adult Gaming?

We all know in the gaming world there are certain games that everyone should play such as Skyrim, Halo, Half Life, and many many others I'm not mentioning. What in your opinions is the Adult equivalent to these games?

I'll start.
If it wasn't already obvious by my profile pic Being A Dik while slightly overrated is easily a game I'd recommend to anyone looking to play "The greats" of Adult gaming. Its also rather vanilla for the most part so it can appeal to a larger mass of people than some other *Ahem* more extreme games. Along with that the story is actually gripping and makes you care about MC and the various other characters.

Artificial Girl 2 by Illusion - Such a simple thing really. A girl following you around an island calling after you. Works in real life too. :)

Corruption by Mr C - It's what got me searching for other adult games and brought me to here. I thought he was using some strange Japanese version of Daz to it. Found out he was using Honey Select to get his art. (I had stopped following Illusion as a company really). I admire the man for going ahead with his money making scheme and he does put a lot of extra work into it to catch up with the ease he gets his art.

The "weighted rating" filter in the latest updates section serves for this purpose. It may be a popularity contest but, well, those games are popular for a reason. Honestly, I'd never say any game is a "must", broadly speaking. I, for one, never played those AAA games you mention and I'm not interested at all in any of them, as I'm not a fan of their genre. Same happens with erotic gaming, you can't say BaDIK is "a game everyone should play" when we have people who understand this genre as a way for a quick fap, or people who enjoys RPGM's or look for some battle/management system, or... whatever. You simply can't. You need to narrow down your categories

Witch Trainer is the quintessential trainer game and a funny, well-written, lighthearted introduction to the subgenre.

Karryn's Prison for those who want a JRPG with good gameplay and lots of replay value.

Thats fair. The inspiration of the post was for someone like me to simply note the higher quality games on F95. I guess when I made this I didn't think about the varying genres. A "Best of X genre" approach probably would have been more appropriate.

v.i.r.t.u.e.s if you want jiggle physics
timestamps if you want a linear game but a very good story (VN)
One of faerin's games if you want a detailed renpy game with TONS of side content like jobs and activities (summertime saga too)
epiclust games if you want exaggerated girls i.e beach ball tits and salami sausage fucksticks
treasure of nadia if you want 60fps animations that are very detailed with a good story too thats in rpgm and is updated twice a month

I don't think a top list like the ones common for regular games makes much sense for adult games. For these personal preferences for fetishes are far more important than technical or artistic quality. When it comes to my personal favorites, all of them are abandoned and most are pretty buggy too.

Trials in Tainted Space and Corruption of Champions because of the world and freedom. And Fallen Doll because I think VR porn is on another level.

on that note:

someone mentioned illusion, so rather than AG2 I think Rapelay was the one that blew up the industry and put illusion on the global map.

leisuresuit larry is probably another massive classic and probably the most sold adult game ever. very little to offer on the smut side, but in west it's the one that first made regular people realize computers could be used for sex.

Saia No Uta. never has playing boyfriend to a shapeshifting demon girl had more emotional impact.

oh, Snow Daze. predating covid isolation but hitting all the isolation notes. can you knock up all your sisters & mom before the snow storm ends? challenge accepted!

I've always felt Acting Lesson's fit the bill of "significant" or as the OP phrased it "must play", even if it's only to join one side of the "it's trash" or "best story in an AVN" debate that's been going on in some form or another since it came out.
