Beyond whatever moral or ethical issues it may have, it's going to kill many up and coming artists.

On top of that the truly skilled and talented ones need not fear anything, their stuff will always be in demand.

The real issue is that while it won't kill real art itself it will eliminate a lot of the bullshit corporate jobs an artist could take on while still focusing on that field and skill set, meaning even good artists will have to look for other jobs and thus have less time to focus on their own art. And whether "AI" actually works well enough doesn't matter in that regard, if it's cheaper corporate will pounce on it regardless and let the general public pick up any slack. The only ones who truly have nothing to fear are independent artists who can actually live off their art alone, or related performances like Bob Ross.

I don't see the issue. Whether it's bullshit corpo jobs or other jobs you still have to look for them either way lol.
Regardless, where there's a will there's a way.

While it's the effort that counts, art is not only an expression of human creativity but at least in my experience also the biggest part in game development by time invested. Might just be me though...anyways I believe if you draw it yourself it shows commitment at the very least, as in all areas of life, keep working on it and it will improve. You can either take the bus (AI) and miss out or walk up the mountain yourself and enjoy progress every step of the way is what I am saying. Every route is valid in the end AI is nothing but another choice to get the job done, it's not my choice and I am also glad being able to set a filter but who am I to judge anyone that enjoys AI art as ultimately even the best art fails if the story sucks.
