For me, it's generally synthwave or some other electronic music that fits the theme of the game. I will sometimes do this even if the game has a soundtrack and I've either heard enough of it or I think I can do better on my own.
Now, for the recent Doom games I put on heavy metal! Full albums from Rammstein or Dethklok!
My seroundings.
I always turned the sound of.
I dont want people to walk in when i am playing porn games.
Not because it is wrong to play porn games but i rather not deal with having to talk about it.
depending on the game, soundtracks from other games. They often fit on other games as well, and since they're written for a game in the first place, it doesn't distract you too much from the game itself.
Do people really need to listen to something when playing a visual novel? Personally I always mute the game music to focus on reading. Is music really important to everyone?
Usually I mute games and I listen to either daily life music (so mainly black metal like Regarde Les Hommes Tomber / Glaciation / Au Champ Des Morts...) or either chaturbate girls. Or when I don't want sound I just read silently, it depends of my mood and on my interest for the game. The better the game the less I need for music.
I actually have my own personal test. I listen to audiobooks quite a bit and usually play games with audio (music) off and a book playing. If I find the game interesting enough to distract me from the book I'll throw it over to a spotify playlist and pay more attention to the game.
I often listen to audiobooks or podcasts while playing games. Like I'll pause and read if there's non-repeditive dialogue I actually care about but often I'm just playing while listening to people talk about the latest scientific discoveries or economic indicators or how much the life of a greek slave sucked.
