Gameplay. Not the half-assed Visual Novel minigames, games with gameplay loops. It might sound hard, but you only really need do would be to take the formula of some other game.

This. Too many ero-games are more like interactive comics than real games. Actual gameplay is what's missing most of the time. Rance did it ages ago, no reason other devs can't try as well in their own games.

Too many according to who? If I wanted a half assed, amateur feeling game with a ton of jank and so-so graphics I have all of ubisofts catalog to choose from.

So according to you ubisoft now makes adult games? Adult game can still be real game. It dosent have to be triple A, but still offering gameplay. For adult storys there are books, if you have no imagination and just need jerk off material you can buy adult magazines. So if you lable your creation as game then people expect gameplay.

Some actual magic might be interesting to see. Played a few set in that mythos and yet they barely touched the one thing unique about the setting.

The site labels them as adult VNs. And figuring out if that should be called a game should be about as fun as the debate on whether chess is a sport.
