What happens when you press the ignore button on someone's profile? Can they still see my messages or post? Or do I just not receive messages from them?

They can see your messages but you will not see theirs and thus you will not get needlessly angry and be tempted to post off-topic in return, as angry people tend to do.
Ignore is one of the best features for your inner peace, I highly recommend using it generously.

The ignore function hides their messages, threads, and maybe also prevents DM.
It'd be ideal if it also hid my profile from them, but i doubt that happens.

Not too generously, there's a limit of 1000 people.
Also don't ignore uploaders, there are more "where are the games?" threads than there should be.

True, i wonder what happens when a mod starts being generous on the ignores, can they still do their mod job if they can't see the person? Maybe we found the reason behind why so many mods rely on the report function.
