Hello there,

Let's make a list of things that shouldn't be in the game for me

My list of things that make me quit playing games:
- photoshoot (highest alert)
- shopping for clothes with a girl (highest alert)
- the question is whether or not to peek in the bathroom, etc. (middle, but annoying)

This doesn't make a game good or bad, it just makes it something you don't like.

Everything you list that you don't like is someone's most important feature.

Dialogues lacking even a minimum of spell checking. I don't expect perfection, since I myself make mistakes all the time, but with the number of tools available to help with this process, it's quite discouraging for me when the developer doesn't care about this and releases a project full of spelling errors that could easily be corrected.

- Bad controls. Everything should be playable with one hand.
- Walls of filler text.
- Sandbox game, where you should follow a single possible quest. Basically a VN with extra annoyance.
- Alot of characters, while none of them has full set of sex scenes.
- Male MC masturbates to gain some stats. Why would anyone want to see that?

Forced LIs/scenes is a big one.

It's was much more of a common occurrence in older games but seems to be thankfully dying out.

Sure!

Obvious bugs. Especially if they break some of the game's functions. For example, I remember a ren'py visual novel that crashed everytime I tried to access the gallery.
Shoddy formatting. For example, text running off-screen (as tends to happen in poorly formatted RPG Maker games) is very much a no-no. But bad formatting also covers things like the character's spoken lines and the character's unspoken thoughts being in the same text box.
Glaring plot holes. Not everything has to be perfect writing - but obvious plot holes and contradictions should be avoided no matter what. If a character is introduced as happily married early into the game, and she then pops up as single and open to dating an hour later, then there had better be a satisfying explanation for that. Though there's tons of other examples when it comes to plot holes. A lot of bad writing comes from authors forgetting or misremembering what their characters are like and what they did, or even how the story's setting works (though the latter is mainly a problem in fantasy and sci-fi).
Oldschool MTL. This one should go without saying but I'll elaborate anyway - if you, in the age of GPT and other AI translation modules, are still translating games using Google translate and other last-decade shittastic automatic translators, and you actually have the gall to think that you're doing anyone a favour with that, then you really need to re-evaluate your life choices...

Would probably put these up there as things to avoid

-lots of grinding
-never adding content with the LIs despite numerous updates
-crazy plots with like 50 different people involved that make no sense whatsoever

But let’s look at the statistics. If we take the TOP games on the site, almost all of them either completely exclude the points I mentioned, or handle them very quickly and tastefully - like in Our Red String, where those elements appear only briefly and are well-integrated into the story. Otherwise, it’s rare. Neither Karren Prison nor Insight, nor most other VNs include these things to any significant degree

So yeah, there’s some truth in what you said - but it’s far from all-encompassing

Do I have the time or the desire to do in depth research? No. But you already backtracking shows you are applying your own beliefs on something you think you observe and attempt to justify if you find something that doesn't jive with your world view.

In most of the TOP games here, the first time you'll see a girl naked is by peeking at her in the bathroom...

And them doing it in a quick and tasteful way isn't a difference they have with other games doing the same, but a preconception bias you have. Those games are among the most liked, therefore if they have a point that make you think that a game is bad, it can only be because they handle it better.
