Contrary to popular belief (i.e. some 10 odd members of this forum), straight males (largest player base) will always prefer heterosexual games. Yes, most straight males do enjoy lesbian porn but at the end of the day, it is not enough to keep the straight male player group interested in a strictly lesbian games. There is the myth in this part of the forum that female mc games should be strictly lesbian for straight male players, if this statement was true then every famous female mc games would have been strictly lesbian (as the largest player base is straight males), but it is not the case.

I think there's just a smaller market for pure lesbo stuff so it doesn't get made as often. I think most guys would quite happily play through a pure lesbo story line. I know I would. But I also think a dev who wants to make a game like that would DRAMATICALLY expand their potential audience if they included some MF options as well even if the main focus of the game was lesbo only.

I would guess there's a bigger market for female fans as well if both options are included although it might be offset by some fans who would get upset about there being even a chance they might see a dick. I suspect as long as the MF stuff is avoidable they'd get over it. There's also going to be plenty of people who want FFF or FFM stuff if you're going to take things to that level. Most of the devs I've heard talk about a pure lesbo game are focusing more on a love story type of thing that is probably not going to devolve into group sex, but hey you could still have a scene where there's a bit too much alcohol or some drugs involved and things get a bit crazy.

I think that honestly while it's true there are more male players of adult games than women, and there are more male and female players than us "lesbo's", it's a pretty piss poor excuse to not fill that niche. Many businesses have come along and have done very well catering to niche markets because they create loyal fans within that particular interest. This is more a case of simply not having the developers interested in the subject enough to bother, or when they do take the chance, they think they'll get great numbers from the start, which doesn't happen with most MF games either. It also has a lot to do with the fact that if you hit the [lesbian] tag, there's maybe what, 5 games total that are really lesbian? The rest is a thrown in FF scene, or as others have said, a male-centric game with MFF thrown in for flavour. There's no place for someone really honestly making a lesbian game to post it. No one's going to look, because we've realized that tag is anything but about lesbians. Anywho, to the original post, keep up hope! I do too! My 2 cents.

Yeah, the tagging problem is real in this case. Literally the only way to reliably find games about lesbians is by searching manually for recommendations. The tags, for both flavors of gay, are completely useless in filtering out hetero content. Gay male games seem to scrape by by appealing to the furry demographic, which is an overwhelmingly MM community with plenty of cash to burn on MM-targeted furry content via patreon. That's why the 'gay monsters' niche is overwhelmingly dominated by furry bears, and if you want soft boy incubi you can gtfo. They're a niche demographic, but way more dedicated than anything lesbians have, unfortunately. It's not like there's a secret cabal of gay women dedicated and willing to splurge cash for years on gay monster girls or something (if only) :/

But hey, the tags have been crap since long before I joined up. There's literally only one foot-related tag, for example, so it's the same problem for anyone who likes feet (and not just 'one footjob scene in the entire game'). Other fetishes/orientations are probably much the same. I... suspect that puts a lot of otherwise dedicated users off, at least on this site. It's not exactly welcoming to devs, either, knowing their gay-only game will be buried under a pile of unrelated het content, where it will likely only gain traction by word of mouth.

I prefer lesbian only games but they are few and far between and generally lack popularity. Additionally, the "lesbian" tag on this site (and most sites for that matter) is completely useless and yuri focused blogs like Yuriempire (formerly Yurination which got knocked down for obvious but stupid reasons) tend to barely cover erotic games and even then focus on the more vanilla stuff. I've asked about things like yuri focused RPGs but the closest thing I could find was lust doll which allows you to turn off different fetishes so if you want you can turn off m/f content but not "monster" content and even then it's more of a "fade to black" thing in some cases like the bandit. You can avoid m/f content in CoC but only if you win every fight which let's face it short of cheating that isn't gonna happen. I guess there was lust memory but it was kinda meh and didn't have much content to the point where you could finish it in less than an hour even if you didn't know what you were doing so I don't really count it. Altogether I agree with most of your points. As for khumak's point, I think Lust Doll did that pretty well by letting turn off the stuff you don't want at any time. Sadly that is quite hard to program in most mediums and for the most part only text games can manage, not VNs let alone RPGs. Sadly even text games fail to include that most of the time. I for one would rather not see a single dick in my games or IRL for that matter but I have problems. However, most people who enjoy pure lesbian content don't have some weird complex like I do so that's a moot point. But at this point, more often than not the best I can get is mostly lesbian content and just settle for jamming the hell out of the space bar whenever there's het content on screen.

People have different interests. Games focusing on niches are less likely to get as much attention as popular fetishes.
Don't expect people suddenly turn from hetero to gay just because they see a pair of tits with a finger, licking, or dildo play.
