What is something you think gets undeserved hate ?

Overally It think its Sandbox Genre TAG. Thought i agree, most developers dont even understand meaning of sandbox so they totally misuse it and make game insufferable. Actually it kind of hard to say what dont deserve hate, couse people have different tastes.

Everything. Hate is hardly deserved, people should learn how to find stuff they like instead of hating on what they don't like.
People here are to the point of hating even the "censored" tag. Their inability to read and learn how to just filter out things they dislike instead of complaining is off the charts.

Sex as a game-over state in certain types of game. I feel like people who hate that sort of miss the roleplay portion that you'd play a game for, such as build up to a scene or you consciously needing to consent to something (E.g: Giving up to a succubus character in an RPG type game when you could very easily win if you didn't give in to your libido, and consequently losing/dying). If you want the sexual content without the build up or interactive element, why on Earth play a game when there's a billion images or videos out there?
Also text-focused games that get dropped because they lack animation. It's the same sort of problem, the text is the priority with the imagery as an aid so animation isn't at all necessary. It's a nice novelty but nothing more.

Thought one as i find this site far more open minded then most.
If anything the only thing i see people hate on is ntr.
I dont care for ntr so i just dont play those games.
But so far i havent seen anyone getting angry for loli, shota, rape, mind control, enslavement, corruption, blackmail or any of the other tags that have the player commit crimes just to get laid.
Now make no mistake.
People shoudnt get angry on any fetishes.
It is just a game after all.

I dont Hate NTR, thought im not into it also, and im not that openminded. Im here to be entertained way i dont bring on my marriage bed. Adult games are good way to live out your fantasies without harming your marriage. NTR hate was always a bit insane on this forum. Its the single thing that shat up conversations the most to the point where we get trigger warnings in the OP.
Female protags get some hate for no reason.
RPGM has this issue where past experiences inform people they shouldn't touch superior modern games.
Some people have a religious conviction about lolis or shotas and seek to shit up anyones time enjoying those, including some staff.
Theres consistent shitting up of threads regarding patreon money and release schedule which is never constructive. Just people being entitled and jealous.
Lesbians seem to hate anyone critiquing games with mostly lesbian content and women have hard time controlling their emotions.

As one of those haters I rarely see that roleplay aspect actually working in practice. Nor does consenting/"giving in" need to lead to a Game Over, case in point this. Usually you lose non-sexually first and then get subjected to a scene which is very explicitly written as rape in-universe. Usually a slideshow or a single linear progression of animations too, no interactivity once the sex starts so might as well watch a cookie cutter rape hentai. A lot of these games (especially the platformers) also have terrible Save/Checkpoint systems which makes seeing the scenes a chore and amplifies the ludonarrative dissonance of having to "lose" (be defeated) in order to "win" (have sex) yet "losing" is the easy path.
In line with all of this and much like other rape/corruption games and the like sex is inherently portrayed as something bad, sinful, undesirable or even outright evil which is just hypocritical coming from someone who makes money off of porn games. And you say it yourself: "give in to your libido" as if resisting is always supposed to be the "good" option. Having options and opportunities to give in is not a problem, nor are the explicit submission games such as Trap Quest, but it's really grating that seemingly ALL the "strong" female character games are about sex being bad and complete abstinence being good rather than selective and careful indulgence. Sure you probably shouldn't drink that pink-glowing potion the demon lord handed to you but why do you never get the option to hook up with one of the good-looking guys in the tavern? Or to walk up to a trio of lvl2 goblins and offer them a good time rather than having to drink poison, letting them KO you then rape you? And if any consensual scenes exist you bet they're the most bland, uninspired vanilla sex possible. Somehow you can never find a willing partner for anal let alone ask a tentacled creature to breed you yet once you lose everyone is queuing up to piss in your ass and feed you your own shit before leaving you to the dogs.
Anyway as for OP: pretty much any choice of game or art/render engine. It's always the same too: each engine has certain "low effort" default options which either inherently suck or become stale from overuse while those who invest time and effort or have a creative idea can make something wonderful with any of them.

NTR gets a lot of hate because plenty of time the game lacks the NTR tag. And then you get the "Well actually" guys coming in to make everything worse.
Never hated the female protagonists but i don't understand the appeal of wanting to experience being fucked by men. unless you're a woman or bi. Female protagonists are almost always the most depraved sluts imaginable. You might think that its the same for the male protagonists but the key difference is that most of the time the female protagonist is just there to be ruined.

The hate on criticism. I can't fathom it really lol. The argument of "If you don't like it, don't play it" only goes so deep. There are plenty of games that I generally enjoy, but contain elements that I dislike. Even in AAA games. I've put 1k hours into Skyrim back in the day, I absolutely adore that game and the franchise. However, I have TONS of criticism about the game, even though typing this makes me want to play once again. Criticism is not inherently negative, nor are people hating for no reason. Why is it so bad to have an opinion on something that you actually enjoy? Especially when that opinion isn't "Everything is Perfect!".
This actually leads into the NTR argument. Multiple people have pointed out the hate for NTR, but I'd also like to point out the hate for NTR hate. So many things, so many opinions are just considered as NTR-hate and trashed as a result. More often than not, the threads I've seen derailed by NTR arguments aren't necessarily the NTR haters fault. They stated their opinion, and someone else jumps in aggressively regarding said opinion. This is literally just an offshoot of the first paragraph, but the hate for NTR hate seems to run much deeper than a simple hatred for criticism.
