Ren'py VN seems to be the most popular format by far, usually incest and/or harem with male MC in a modern setting. Me, I like trainers and games with corruption/mind control/coercion/NTR themes and some actual meaningful gameplay.

Personally I try to find games with a decent gameplay and/or having the MC meaningful challenges (a.k.a you can fail stuff and stuff happens). I like the feeling of being pushed into a corner and be able to do a comeback.

To be fair I started to play adult games cause I grew bored of stupid/useless romances in normal games, I did want that romance was something more meaningful than a few lines and characters becoming more stupid.

I can understand that gives the games more of a reason to play rather then just the horny.

I like Ren'py VNs, most often with these tags

-corruption: giving in to base desires and allowing them to grow
-cheating: cheating on your SO
-NTR: your SO cheats on you
-impregnation: ultimate disregard for consequences

While I like it when cheating and NTR appear in the same game, I never play them both on the same path if possible. The corruption only feels consequential if one party remains "pure."
