That's about 500 renders per month. If you can't do nearly that rate because of your computer or your skill level or the rest of your life's obligations, you might not be able to compete in this market.
Dear god, I hope you're being sarcastic.

Come on... all I did was take the other guy's 2-month quote and divide by 2. I don't even know if that's too high or too low. If you know what the average rate is, then just correct us both publicly so OP at least has an answer.

In my defense, the difference between Blender Eevee and Daz Iray render speeds on my rig is literally a factor of 1000. So "short" and "long" development cycles are extremely relative.

People tend to subscribe to Patreon when you release an update, and lapse when there hasn't been an update for 2-3 months.

More updates = more money.

The answer is probably "as many renders as you can make in a month."

But this seems like a reasonable place to start, if you need objective terms:

That said, the biggest problem seems to be creators who didn't plan out their story properly, so they run out of ideas or gumption before finishing it. For this reason, you should spend time on brainstorming, outlines, and drafting, so you don't "paint yourself into a corner" later.

Good luck. And remember, :)
For us the problem isn't free time, pc power, skill level, ideas or so. The main issue is the will to do.
Our pc is quite good. We have so many ideas that we can't put it all in one story (we alreadyhave like 4 different stories planned). What lack the most is the strenght to say "Ok, stop playing or whatever you are doing and go to render".
Surely money are a big aid to solve this lack.
