Whats something you want see/see more of in FPOV/Female protag games.

For me I'd like to see more Female Protag games that are sex positive and don't revolve around the woman needing to be corrupted because she starts out like a nun. Seriously, women have sex too, and sometimes we have had multiple partners in life. Why do so many games either make us nuns or complete sluts? Why is it so hard to write us like regular people that can enjoy sex without feeling guilty, or without succumbing to everyone that flirts with us?
Hold up, you're telling me women are also people and not this empty husk that horny devs create for the sole purpose of somewhat satisfying their fetishes, with the most barebones of personality they can be bothered with?

I know, it's shocking! We're even funny sometimes. And not all of us secretly desire other women.

All jokes aside, I get that this is all a fantasy and we should have fun. But it would still be nice to have more three dimensional female characters.

That would be a breath of fresh air considering 90% of female protag games all seem to follow the "pious, shy and prude woman quickly devolves into a cock-worshipping whore that begs to be bred like cattle". I generally avoid female protag games to begin with just because it's not my thing, but the ones I've played were pretty much what I described, and they just bore me. People like that and that's cool, but all I ask is for a change in the menu - I'm tired of eating burgers, would it kill you to serve me a steak?

I read the comments above. I haven't laughed like this in a long time. Men who make decisions for women in a game with a female protagonist, accuse their heroine-a whore !:KEK: Gentlemens ! Whores are - you !)))))))

In women's games, I choose the man I like and fuck only with him. Sometimes, if one is rich and the other is cool, I sleep with two.

Whats something you want see/see more of in FPOV/Female protag games.

If some of you can tell me what's missing in female protag games?

What's going RIGHT about them?

When I am building my game do better to improve on?

What are your favourite female protag games?
You can find probably most the answers to this by just searching with female character and female trope on this forum
Similar questions have been asked in the path.
That way you don't have to wait as long to get your answer.

To answer you anyways:
First, the character actually acts like she fits the back story given on her.

Second, No short cut writing that leaves massive plot holes. plot holes is one of the most basic things you should have learned to avoid early when learning to write. It's elementary school level stuff. So there is no excuse for having huge issues.

Example of short cut writing: Female is being blackmailed to do whatever. She has countless options but instead of taking anyone of the more likely options she should take the author has her say something stupid like, "Owe no what choice do I have." or gives the player only bad choices to deal with the situation.

- Female protag as the perverted creep in a trainer game. So, something like Mistress vs. Slave.
- Female protag as a harem member. Ideally in a directly supportive role in a RPG, and able to recruit new members to the harem. Sadly I know of no such games.
- I don't care for defloration, so less of that as a theme. At least have MC's hymen broken some other way.
- Cuckquean stuff, why the hell not. I like NTR, I'd give it a try.

The female protagonist and what is missing:

I’ve traveled fairly extensively in my life time. Saying female characters in games are boring next to real life women is an understatement of many magnitudes. That said there is a bit of latitude reasonably given characters in a book or a game because trying to match a person’s real life persona by even the best of writers is difficult to say the least. That said adult game female characters rank at the lowest denominator when it comes to showing capability and acting anything close to what a real woman may do in any number of situations.

Many of the times when playing a game I get the feeling the author just hates women for whatever reason. Some times there is a good amount of evidence in the very game the created to support that theory.

Regardless the reason, it doesn’t make for good and certainly not great games.

You can generally tell when a game is written in a manor to be simplistic and lighthearted and not taken seriously but for fun. A good example would be “Ema, Milf Warrior…”

Other games are written on a more serious tone. Which fail miserably to anyone that can read above an elementary level. I won’t name any of them to avoid causing hurt feelings.

So in this post well try and cover a number of situations that occurred in real life vs how you would find the typical game covering such a scene.

There is an old saying, “There is nothing more dangerous than a woman scorned.”

To illustrate this well look at a report we received in the US Navy one morning. Each day we would get incident reports read off regarding injuries individual sustained. Such as a sailor jumping over wall to catch a foot ball not realizing there was a long drop on the other side.

The report:
After several months of abuse from her spouse and him cheating on her she chose to do something about it. So on such and such evening she was waiting for him to come home she was in lingerie and had a pair of hand cuffs waiting for him when he came in the door. She coxed him to come to the bedroom. It wasn’t that hard given his inebriated state. She got him to lie on the bed and cuff him to the iron head board. She told him that she would slide up under him if he rolled over after tying his feet down. After tying his feet she walked over to the dresser and picked up a now hot curling iron and shoved it up his rear end. She then proceeded to the closet grabbed her suitcase and left. He was discovered by his neighbor on the 3(rd) day when he woke up from being passed out and started screaming.

You could fill a collection larger than the encyclopedia Britannica with just stuff related on how women got revenge and not repeat a single method. Yet, I’ve played hundreds of adult games and 99%+ make women out to be helpless and incapable.

Black mailing a woman in RL is much more likely to end up with you hurt in some way than you getting shit out of her. The courts in the US are filled with countless cases were some idiot tried to blackmail a female and ended up holding the short end of a stick of TNT with no place to throw it.
More times than not the female turns it back around on the person trying it or ends up turning them into law enforcement. Some times the female takes her own form of action in a number of ways. She acts in a manor herself to remove the person or has another person do so. If they don’t have close friends or family they always have something they can use to pay most men with.

You stand a better chance of “false knighting” working than blackmail. In case you aren’t familiar with it that’s when you act the hero(white knight) against someone else you setup to look like the blackmailer. Yes, women even tend to figure when this shit is also pulled. She ends up sending the guy she actually trusts over to kick your and the other guys ass just to make sure she got the right one for good measure. That or the cops end up looking into it either way it puts an end to your games for a while regardless.

In most games the author will resort to shit like the female protagonist saying something to the effect of, “What choice do I have?”
If you actually paid any attention she probably had a couple thousand better choice staring her in the face that would more than likely get picked by any woman in real life. That’s just being lazy.

Black mail doesn’t ever work when what you are asking of the person is more damaging than if the threat of blackmail is carried through. A woman wants to protect her relationship. Blackmailer has nude pictures of her. She did something drugged or drunk that she wouldn’t normally. There is a chance that might end her relationship not a guarantee. However, she gives into blackmail who demands sex. In that case she is knowingly doing so of her own volition in an attempt to cover up something she wasn’t entirely at fault at. That will pretty much guarantee any relationship to end if uncovered. Most people can do that little bit of math. Thus going along with the blackmailer for his demand of sex is highly unlikely and she will most likely tell her partner what happened to get out in front of it.

Everyone pretty much knows there is no once or just a few times with blackmailers there is nothing to hold them to their word.

Blackmail is one of he hardest events to pull off in writing some of the absolute best writers have trouble with it and still end up with serious plot holes. Entire books have been abandoned over not being able to solve such issues. So for an amateur to try and pull it off it is next to impossible. I’ll put it another way I have yet to read a single game that has done it without it being shit.

If you do attempt it you want to put the all the marbles in the blackmailers hand give them such an overwhelming hand dealt it seems to be a cheat in nature. A good example would be he over hears her say something to her lawyer that if the spouse got wind of it it could cost her the divorce case and everything.

Character and persona:
Most the time when a game author / developer introduces a female character they act nothing like the person they described in the start of the game. Far to often is a female character introduced having a position of importance supposedly is smart and the rest of the game she acts anything but that.

If you need her to act like a moron through out the game then introduce her that way. It seems the only reason developers do this shit is to sucker people into their product who actually what a smart female character. The other potential is they are writing about a character above their own capability.

Alright, I've had this thread for a while and written part of my own script;

The funny thing is with everyone's ideas and quotes it boils down to one key thing:

We want female protagonists to be human, to be treated the same as male protagonists:

  1. Give them agency, give them choices and consequences to develop. All too often we see a lot of female protags falling into the trope of being at the mercy of other people's reactions.
  2. Give them realistic, 3D personas. With dialogue and choices that have integrity.
  3. Make the other characters that the protag is attracted to, attractive. Whether that be looks or something they have, externally or internally (confidence, humor, looks, power, money)

The only exception to this is people wanting more unique roles for women.

It seems the topic has mostly been about bad clichés in games with female protagonists. I'll go full "ideas person" mode and suggest a load of options for content. I'm just spitballing mostly crazy ideas for a bit, and some of the ideas are more than a little messed up. It certainly isn't a check list, it is obvious that seeing all of this in a single game is not just utterly infeasible but actually impossible.

Harems
Harem games are curious in that their settings are perfect for some good sexual debauchery but are usually rather straight-laced in the execution. That may be fitting for historical settings, although in real life sultans did get cucked by lesbians in their harems, but it is less plausible for modern-day contexts. Harem games are also a big market, although that cannot be said for harem games with female protagonists. Anyway, here are a few ideas based on the principle that a harem should be a sexually liberated place, not a boarding house for squares:

Femdom
Just in general, a femdom game with a female protagonist would break a lot of ground. Although games with a submissive male MC often have a maledom route of some kind, games with submissive female MCs rarely have a femdom path.

Rape
Rape can be used as both a plot device and as a kink. If you use it as a plot device, there are enough guides out there. If you have it as a kink, own it as an evil act and don't try to soften the impact or make excuses for it. A game with a male protagonist that takes it seriously as a kink is Vae Victis.

Abortion
If a game takes place in a modern setting and unwanted pregnancies form a part of the storyline or gameplay, it makes sense to allow a female MC to. Sure, they are controversial in some parts of the world, but they have been available for decades. Their absence in many rape-based games is an obvious plot hole.

Corruption
Not my main genre, but a big chunk of the games with female protagonists.

Personality
I second what others have said about the clichés about female protagonists' personalities, especially Diconica, although I think there are games that do it well. One game with a female protagonist that does a great many things right on this end is Jessica O'Neil's Hard News. That said I've put this part last, because nobody actually cares about personality in porn:

At least I hope he got a nice perm on his arse hair out of it...

I think that for a lot of Japanese games, that is what the developers actually expect their audience to like.

Not to be harsh on Japanese developers. It is kind of expected out of them.
My issue is more with US and European so on that do this. Not really an excuse for it other than maybe they used the Japanese game as a format.

At one point I used to think Japanese developers did it because the home market being the target audience kind of demanded it.
Not really so sure of that since talking to more people from there and so on and they have similar complaints.
So maybe the developers there listen like politicians do to whoever screams the loudest or the developers are just more twisted than the general populace ...
Anyway that's all speculation.

I NEED creators to stop forcing lesbian plots in Female protagonist games. I never saw a mp game where there were gay interests forced onto the game, maybe transgender women super fetishized but ok ig.
instead for female protagonist games it looks like it's normal and gives the idea that women for sure should be attracted to another women.
Instead I would love a storyline where you can choose between men characters or maybe have interactions and get to know (fuck) all of them.
Many fp games have weird rape scenarios, stupid creepy male characters that just makes my vagina become drier than Sahara, really. Also so difficult to find femdom dynamics where I can see female povs of actually dominating a ((((HANDSOME))) slave. No I don't want to be raped by an ugly orc, at least make him look nice like you would do for male protagonist games, even a fucking dog would be drawn prettier there.

But I just guess what we really need is a woman willing to make a game for other women bc I guess is hard for men to switch point of view and create an exciting game for women, I guess it is even normal bc we have different ways of seeing sex or things generally!

Agree with most of what you say. I don't think that many slice-of-life games with a female protagonist actually force a lesbian route and personally I like having the option. But it's true a lot have unappealing male potential LIs.

Oh maybe I didn’t find the game for me, it’s just that many even if with lesbian scenes or routes still appeal like they’re made for men…Anyways if I could make a fp game I would make it very different but I have very big expectations usually and hard-to-please-taste in porn games, i’m not saying to take everything as right in what I said tho

I think the fundamental issue here is that most female protagonist games are designed for a male audience, so the point isn't so much to design male love interests that would appeal to the average woman as much as designing sex partners for her that lead to sexual scenarios that will titillate men. That's also why most female protagonist games aren't as much dating sims as they are corruption/rape/humiliation simulators. If it was too much about actual romance or "dreamy" looking guys it would feel too gay and weird to the guys playing the game. At least that's how it is for me. Not saying more games like that shouldn't exist, there would probably be a market for it, at least I hope so.

Well that's like these games where the guy Transforms into a woman but still likes women ..as a Transitioning male that has always been more Gay, It pisses me off that they stick the protagonist with a girlfriend that wants to turn him into a cuckold ...and won't let you kick her to the curb , I like female protagonist games that give you a choice and don't force you into it one way or the other. Bad relationships are just that and if you are not happy in a relationship you should get out. You can be submissive with out being a door mat.

As for guys that play female protagonist games, They should just come out of the closet already. and especially if you like the games where your girlfriend turns you into to a dick-less, wimp sissy boy . Maybe its just me but I never saw the appeal in that .

This statement alone disqualified anything else you said, which was mostly just blabbering on about your own likes and dislikes which have nothing to do with the topic at hand.
 No my point was that the Devs should not force a choice on the player ,Society already does enough of that. Sometimes a lesbian route or a ntr etc... is just tossed in to make the game appeal to a wider audience and really has nothing to do with where the story is headed ... But when its forced on you Instead of a optional thing it can be a real turn off .

Not everyone self-inserts as the MC. Female-MC corruption games give a different perspective, removing the intermediary (horndog male MC, often annoying), giving the main character of interest much more screen time and generally providing a more introspective, direct, real-time corruption experience. You don't have to want to be female or want the acts to be happening to you to enjoy that type of game as a male. The player then takes on the role of an observer or inner voice to the female MC rather than imagining themselves in her place.

Games like, say, Fashion Business, have little to no value as a self-insert game. Practically no one's going to relate to that MC or want to be in her place, we're all just here to watch her get her comeuppance for being an arrogant, abusive person.

Also, in a FemMC corruption game, the player might feel like the corrupter by placing the character in situations that will corrupt her.
