Better storyline in japanese eroge games best example would be fate/stay and night.If you watch hentai and read doujin you can expect that kind of things in games.

I don't like Japanese storylines so my view is different to those here.
A few big things that pop up a lot that just makes me palm my face incredibly hard.
Girls corrupted through sex ... a lass is being fucked and all of a sudden she announces she's addicted to cock and turns into a cum clut ... come on.
Their view on rape. Either the girl getting raped suddenly decides she enjoys it because logic or some muppet says "she's wet, she must enjoy it".

I just have a hard time enjoying something while my inside voice is screaming "who writes this shit".

Western, in both normal movie or porn games, are heavily influence by realism, even their fantasy still close to realism. That's why when people like Guillermo Del Toro making movie, western are mesmerize by it, as it's not common in western culture. The good thing is people around the world can accept the idea, the bad thing is, their limiting their option.

What I wrote is not as shallow as you think. I'm South East Asian, I see a lot of difference between Western and East (not just Asian). Please don't include American-Native-Indian, as their root is the same with Asian culture. What I call western is the old dark age European countries and their expansion, such as America and Australia.

I'd say Japanese games tend to be more rape-y while western games tend to be more creep-y.
That's a simplification of course. Japanese games also tend to use text well, but have a tendency to be over written. Western games have the opposite problem in that there is often little to no descriptive text at all, and the images do all the talking.

A lot of japanese games tend to follow pretty tried-and-true formulas, mostly to do with very rape-centric mechanics in sidescrollers and RPGs. Outside of visual novels, of course.
Western games do the same thing, but the 'formula' is a lot different. There's ren'py and RPG Maker of course, but the ones that extend beyond that tend to be more about management sims, text games and 3D third person games.
