Huh, honestly, I don't think I can make a top 5 list. Mostly because most the games I like are unfinished and can always decide to try and pull an Acting Lessons on me. Considering I am as interested in female protagonists and RPGM games as much as having a root canal done... anyhow, at no particular order (since comparing a romance VN to a sandbox harem game is idiotic) and probably forgetting at least a few:
The Babysitter
Hands down the best game of the type so far. It had some rocky parts at the start (and has no problem aknowlaging them), but the story and characters are good. It has much more options than most games and actually made me care about the main girl and feel bad, when pushing her in to more corrupted routes. The game managed to make me bond with her so well, I refuse to play some of the bad routes (not because of NTR and shit, because I don't want her to go there). I just hope it will manage to keep up the quality.
Man of the House
I had the pleasure to be introduced to the game with the last update. And I strongly urge people who din't like it to give it another shot. Even if I didn't like the characters (and I do and am quite stubborn in my interpretation, that the MC did no real seducing, corrupting or anything to the main ones, he just enabled them to do it to him) I would still give it a honorable place, just because the dev was willing to go back and re-write close to the whole code of the game, to fix a bunch of the unreliable and buggy stuff. It also has a lot of content, compared to other games.
Our fate
The Babysitter lite in a way. Starts with a really interesting story premise and runs with it. Some really unusual and interesting characters to be found, but a really slow burner. Like, really slow. It kind of makes it better on the romance side of things and avoids the blue balls problem slow burners have with starting you with a girlfriend (who desperately needs more content). The story is solid. The characters are interesting and (mostly) believable. For now the game hasn't done the mistake
@DarthSeduction talks about, leaving you to be a dominant bastard in bed AND a caring and loving guy out of it (or the other way around). More games should do that.
Love and Submission
Good, solid game with enough story and plot, to make me not really care about the slow burn. Has some problems, but most of them come from it being in pretty early stages, content-wise. Has interesting characters, curious plot with some deeper and darker possibilities in it, but never loses it's basic bright nature.
Depraved Awakening
Honestly, probably the best product at the moment. One of the few story based games, that knows where it wants to go and never stops or strays from the path. A really good film noir style of game. Solid characters, solid story with both enough mystery and sex to be both a good game and a good adult game. The tone is dark and it may end up in a really dark place, but kind of makes me think the dev won't strip the players agency about it.
A spell for All
It's still one of my favorite games. While the story suffers here and there and not all characters are that interesting and it's limited by the nature of it using real-life models (a full-blown CGI re-make would be epic)... it's a solid game with plenty of content. I also love how the development process works - outsourcing characters avoids one of the bigger problems with characterization games with big cast have, making most of them unique and interesting in at least some ways. I just like it and spent way too much time playing it, so I put it here.
Honorable mentions:
Those are games, that needed something more or fucked up horribly at some point, but are still not that bad.
Dreams of Desire
It's an interesting story with characters that are (mostly) not boring. Sadly it feels rushed in the final episodes, has some gameplay problems and some of the most cringe inducing end game content I could think of. After the "Fuck machines", the game jumped the shark.
Dreaming of Dana
Very good game, but honestly some of the character development at points felt... strange. As a whole it's a good product, that knows where it wants to go from the start. But by primary playing it safe it ends up being just good.
Lab Rats 1.0
It depends way too much on RNG to be a good game and the characters are there to be fucked. Gladly fucking those characters is decent and works well. A decent harem game. Could have benefited from both more story and more characterization.
Dating my Daughter
It's an interesting game. I like it, even if most people here seem to not have a high opinion abut it. I feel it has layed out some pretty big problems for it's own good in the first part. Established a lot of the tropes and cliches in the genre. It's still solid and while has some obvious dissonance with ages and models and behaviour (basically D and friends should be around 14 to make any kind of sense, but D does
not look 14) it's decent. Will see where it ends.
