I also use Playnite.
I used to use a code system like "NCNAXXX" in the file names after the game title, where the N's are "not", the C is complete (as in game is finished), and the A is animated.
Then I'd fill in the X's with other tag letters like H (harem) or F (futa) and etc.
So "_CNAHF" would mean (Complete game, no animation, harem and futa content).
But that got a little too complicated.
Bruh, just reading that has my brain in a swirl. I have no previous symptoms of dyslexia but god damn ahaha

I wasn't aware of playnite, gonna start using it. Does it automatically input the banner/thumbnail or did you do it manually?
You can do it manually, but that also means you'll have to manually fill in all the metadata, like tags, genres, completion state, etc. You can also use a plugin to load everything from f95 itself automatically.

Yo, bro, any chance, you could tell me, how you got these dope thumbnails?

Rn my library looks like this:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Did you just put in the extra effort, to get a good image and then edit the logo into it, or is there something i am completely missing out on?

Nevermind.

I just gotta put my A-game on, huh.
Goddamnit, making 100+ thumbnails now is gonna take a while ...

Ahaha yah, its a tedious task. but pretty rewarding.
I find its a good excuse to play atleast 10 min of each game to see which ones I REALLY wanna keep
Totally agree. I made about 58 covers in the last 7 days and this has been a total game changer, lmao.

I have to say, finding logos is sometimes a real challenge, and when I have to cut them out, I can feel my brain cells committing suicide one by one, but I guess it's a nice excuse to practice my image editing skills...

Also, for anyone who plans on doing the same, SteamgridDB has been a massive help. For at least a third of my games it had an already cut-out logo or even a complete poster, that I just had to cut to my preferred 3 to 4 aspect ratio:

It even has assets for non-steam-games, so just looking up any game is a good idea.

One big folder. Sort by name when trying to find something in particular. Sort by newest when looking for something in general.

I used to use a rather basic, but effective system of spreadsheets which included last played version number, date, and a general rating. I also played around with writing short summaries once since I almost always forget about stories and characters due to dev times. However, I quickly gave up on that due to laziness.

Tho, now my process is MUCH easier. I see game, I download game. I extract game into game folder. I play for like 10 minuets, decide to try something else. Later, I forget I have game and redowload it, get too lazy and leave it in downloads folder. I open the game, realize I played it before and x out and do something else.

Eventually, download folder is too full, so I delete everything. Then one day I realize I have 20-30 games in the game folder that I don't remember doing, so I just delete them all assuming they're all out of date.

Then the cycle repeats itself. Tho, sometimes I do break the cycle by accidentally playing a game completely, or replaying a game I haven't played in a long time that I know I used to like.
