Which website do you use to download the games?

I've always used NOPY, like many others I guess, but we all know what happened to it.
For small files like mods or patches MEGA is my go-to, but bigger sized games aren't possible.
At the moment Uploadheaven is the only one that seems OK to use, the others (Anonfile, Dropmefiles, Mixdrop, etc.) always open fishy links or start downloading trojans...

Does anyone have a go to that is only mildly fishy?

Depends on your browser, you can download an AdBlocker (like uBlock) to block ads & popups.
Brave has an Adblocker by default, but if you're using Firefox like myself, you need an ext like uBlock (probably the most popular one)

Mostly: MEGA

If you're not sure about a website, whether malicious or not, you can use VirusTotal / Google Safe Browsing.

Btw,
Windows Defender (installed by default when using Win8/10/11) is fully enough, so you don't need one of those resource hogs to protect yourself. You can protect yourself extra with TinyWall (Firewall; blocks almost everything by default) and GlassWire (monitoring)

(You don't need TinyWall necessarily )

Sorry guys that I took my time to answer, I kinda forgot about this thread after Christmas and new years :censored:

Thank you for the help
I'm currently using AdBlock Plus, but I will definetly try Virus Total, Brave and Glass Wire (y)

AdBlock Plus is basically an obligatory extension nowadays.
I usually use MEGA to download stuff and always use an antivirus to check the files. I have yet to get something unexpected, but better safe than sorry!

is one of the best programs I've used so far. Very user-friendly.

Zippy > MEGA > Mixdrop = Workupload = Uploadhaven > Anonfiles. I've never had shady stuff from any of them tbh. That might be your punishment for browsing without an adblocker.
