I'm also hoping to see bulges for the futas, though it seems it will only be possible with Ashura since to other futas use magic to hide the bulges.
I feel that. Originally, Balae didn't wear pants at all and Ashura's panties were pretty much always visible, but once I came up with the concept and world of Whispering Ledger I figured it wouldn't really make sense for the futas to always have their junk on display, despite that being my preference as well.

I understand. The way I see it a good porn game has to have a good story. It has to be able to stand on its own without the porn aspects, the porn is just a bonus. I feel like too many porn games focus on the porn and not the story.

Guten tag,

V0.2 is out and the thread has been updated accordingly. This update was more technical than content-heavy, but getting the shops and faction systems out is a massive weight off my shoulders, so expect good things from v0.3.

Also I'm going to post a poll for balance concerns, but you can also comment in the thread things for me to take into consideration.

To be honest, I didn't expect such a well-designed game when I saw that it was aicg, but it turned out to be really cool, at least the prologue, so I'll definitely be waiting for the next updates

I also enjoyed reading the various minor details about the development that the author wrote here. I am a developer and AI engineer myself, so it would be nice to read some more interesting stuff about the development here

Enjoyed my first run. I do find the font on the screen too small to read easily. Maybe a darker backdrop?

I should add text size options in the settings, since I agree that even on larger screens, you can't read anything from a distance. Although my vision is shit, so. On that topic, there is actually a UI Opacity control section...but it looks like I broke it at some point because it does literally nothing right now, whoops.

Honestly, it was alright. The dialogues are fun, and the pixel rendering is nice and different. It's cute and lighthearted.

The whole management/sandbox stuff though was very dragging. Very repetitive and grindy. With no events or anything happening in between, it just became a boring chore. You'd think repeating the same thing every day, you'd at least get some interaction with the girls in between to break up the daily grind, but there is nothing. It's just an endless loop of management/sandboxing with no events or interactions.

I maxed everything out. Got 50/50 in everything. But that's all there is for this version. I see clickable links to go to the rank event, but there is no event in this version. So, I did all that grind for nothing. It leads nowhere. Nadda, zip, zilch, nothing. It's just grind endlessly.

Should really have some sort of splash screen after all the content is complete, to let us know that there are no events. Then afterwards drop them into the endless looping management game. This way we don't sit there grinding forever only to find out there is nothing/no reward for the effort.

Besides all that stuff, the dialogues and characters were enjoyable at least. Just wasn't a fan of the endless looping grind. Still, best of luck with this and thanks. :)

Thanks for the feedback on the grind. As the game progresses, you'll have rank events to cut through the grind, but as of right now there aren't any rank events, which you can always see at-a-glance by looking at the "Ranks" tab of the ledger. There used to be random events during the shop phase, where sometimes one of the girls would pop up and ask for something and give you an opportunity to raise affinity, but implementing it was such a fucking nightmare that I ended up scrapping it. I might give it another shot when my sanity refills.

That being said, there's no reason I shouldn't have included some kind of "Hey by the way this is the end of content for version 0.2", so I'm actually going to patch that in right now, along with the UI options update. This won't impact you because you already reached the end, sorry about that.

Alas, it's a generic npc used purely for world-building. There are people you'll be able to have killed or be killed by in the not-distant-at-all future I guess.

Thread has been updated (minus viking and datanode mirrors because those aren't mine) with the v0.2.1 update, which adds the following:


v0.2.1 Bugfix

  • Opacity settings in Preferences were actually just not working at all.
  • Wisp images updated
  • Added Wisp dialogue explaining end of content for v0.2

I tried adding the text size option to the menu and it fucked a lot of other stuff up so I'll have to workshop that a bit more.

Balance changes will come after I've gathered more feedback, then implemented when it matters, since there are currently no rank events.

That's more than fair. This was intended to be the single most boring update that this game will have, because it was almost entirely technical. So now that the foundation has been set, you'll have two different "kinds" of updates:

  1. Updates that continue the main story, which would be along the lines of what you've already experienced in the prologue.
  2. Updates that add faction rank events, which are like stand-alone stories that focus on specific characters and the people they're affiliated with.
Main story updates will be longform, with multiple characters cycling in and out of it, and new ones along the way. Faction updates will be like "Guild, Lab, and Library Rank 2 events have been added", which in this case would be standalone stories centered around Ashura, Nicole, and Balae respectively. Ashura has a group of characters she regularly interacts with as a member of the Adventurer's Guild, just as Balae with the Scholar's Association, and Nicole with the Research Laboratory. Think of them as side stories, if you will.

Throughout both, things will play out differently depending on your affinity with certain characters, but it'll be really apparent in faction events.

The next update is a main story update.

Howdy, v0.3 will be made public next week (Nov 15th) with the release of v0.3.1 for Patrons so I figured I should let you folks know what to expect:

Changelog:

  • Added Chapter 1 Part 1
    • The first part of this chapter spans two days, and comes out to 49 new images across different branches. It is inexplicably as long as the entire prologue, and with more images.
    • There's an option to start the next chapter in the morning, before opening the shop.
    • New Characters
      • Luna
      • Roland
      • Mia
      • Korin
      • Brother Douglass
  • Shop Adjustments
    • Tyra and Ashura's expeditions now give 4 exp per run, up from 2.
    • Crafting with Nicole now gives 3 exp per item, up from 2.
    • Buying items from Nicole now gives 2 exp per item, up from 1.
  • Fixed so many typos.
    • So so so many typos.

I'm actually increasing exp gain to 10 for expeditions and seascapes (Ashura and Tyra) in v0.3.1 because even after doubling from 2 to 4, having to spend 12-13 days before hitting exp cap is kind of ridiculous. There's no faction content in 3.0 so at the moment it doesn't matter.

Hey folks, while you're patiently waiting for the release this Saturday, you may want to check out Fantasy Futanari if you haven't already. Jake James is another futanari dev, and many of you have been asking me about giving animal anatomy to the futas in Whispering Ledger.

To recap, the checkpoint I'm using has absolutely no idea that animals even have dicks, so it's borderline impossible to add them without fucking up the pixel artstyle (inexplicably). Having knots and whatnot in the game would be quite nice, but alas.

He's graciously allowed me to make some outputs of one of his characters, Sethi, which I have promptly fucked up because of the aforementioned limitations.

I'll be adding a Cat Feran eventually. I'm thinking with Rat's Faction Event, which I'm very excited about, because it's tonally the type of thing I enjoy writing.

I actually come from "Fantasy Futanari," and since I'm also fascinated by pixel art, I came to check out this project (which mysteriously never showed up as a recommendation for me, how strange) :unsure:. Anyway, I'm going to try it out and then give my constructive criticism. Although, from the comments I've been reading, it looks like it'll be really good, entertaining, and hot, hehe. :sneaky:

Well, I've finished testing everything this version has to offer, and now I'll give my humble opinion with its respective constructive criticism:
* I'll start with the character and background designs: Simply beautiful and crafted with great care. Pixel art truly never disappoints.

* The music is relaxing and matches the game's design and atmosphere.

* The idea of running the store through investment and "business partners" seems very well thought out to me; it's entertaining and easy to manage.

Now I will mention some negative points I found, but which can be worked on to improve:
* The first point to highlight is the bargaining system. I find it useless and even annoying when running the shop. Perhaps it might be useful during events with the Girls, but as far as the NPCs who buy from the shop are concerned, it's pointless. Even if I don't bargain with them and they don't buy the item, at the end of the day it still shows that I can sell it.

* Ranking up with the factions feels significantly slower with Ashura's Guild and Tyra than with Nicole, Rat, and Balae.

* Rat's "shop" feels underutilized. Except for a few specific items where she lowers the price to triple her profit, the rest are pure junk. They'd be more useful if she sold more than one item at a time.

*And most importantly (at least for me, haha), the font size is too small. Luckily, I don't have vision problems, but I still unconsciously kept moving closer to read more comfortably, and in the end, my eyes got even more tired from the effort. I would really appreciate it if you could take this into account and increase the font size a bit.

And that's it. It's an excellent game with a lot of potential. I wish it would let you give the futa girls their respective "animal members". But I understand you already explained that would be complicated given the system you're working with, which is a shame, but it doesn't stop us from enjoying your game. As a last resort, you can always do it in individual images to post, hehe :sneaky:
