Why devs add MC jerking off as a game mechanic in sandbox harem games?

I've played a few games, where MC has to jerk off every day for a few weeks before he gets sex with any girl.

Its a huge turnoff for me. Does any straight man fantasize about looking at some other guy playing with himself? Ofcourse there are games for gays, so they are out of the question.
But I've seen it even in games, where the main focus is making your harem of girls.

Its ok, if its not forced. And triggering special events is a reward, so it makes sense.
