Curiosity originally. I mean, porn is and always has been abundant, so it wasn't out of any kind of need to find a new way to nut, but I was curious. I guess I got lucky on the first few that I tried because I actually enjoyed playing them. I liked the stories, I liked the scenarios presented, and of course, I liked the porn bits. I can't even remember what the first games I played were, lol. But I've been playing these games for years now and, honestly, it's not even for the porn bits any more, that's more like icing on the cake than any real reason. Now I'm just looking for a good story or game (it's rare that they coexist, sadly, but it does happen occasionally).

I like porn + I like games = I like porn games (though I don't like the same things in regualr and porn games). I started playing porn games when they had no pictures in them (adrift/tads aif games). I was also reading porn stories and therefore aif was a straight upgrade for me. It's really fun to see the porn game world evolving, even if it's becoming a little stale these days in my opinion (lots of VNs or old school RPGM).

For me porn games have 3 advantage's over normal porn and hentai.

1: Better stories.
While 98% of the stories on this site are crap.
The remaining 2% is really great.
Hentai and porn is rather limited in its ability to tell a truly dark story.
Ow sure rape porn is fun at first.
Hentai corruption is even better.
But both of these's are on rails.
There is never an risk of getting caught.
No fear, No thrill of the hunt and the girls are way to willing after dick enters the pussy.
Games even as simply as lab rats 1 has an interesting concept.
As it does keep the story believeable.
The only reason you are able to brainwash the girls is because you thought of it before the goverment did.
It ends with the very realistic outcome that the goverment keeps the research under wraps because mind control is the wet dream of every politician.
Your corruption of them is realistic.
You push there believes of what is normal until they think having sex you with is the most normal thing in the world.
Or hentai highschool+ where you slowly corrupt a school and a small town into sex starved humans.
Movies are too short to be able to do the corruption justice.

2: Gameplay.
I am a gamer.
I play games.
I want to have my gameplay.
I find myself far more interested in labs rats 2 gameplay and how to make the perfect drug within the limits of the game.
Likewise i like superpowered mind control system because every advantage has a disadvantage.
I need to pick what i want to achieve and what i am willing to sacrifice.
Even a simple game as evil gaurds is fun for me because i am climing through the ranks to get more and more privilage to exploit female prisoners.

3: Immersion.
Same reason i like point of view porn.
It is more immersive.
I rather be the one fucking the bitches then watching them be fucked.
And first person view is the best way to do that.

So i short.
I play porn games because they are games that allow me to do horrible things i would never do i real life.

The story mostly. I'm pretty bored with adult game porn. The majority of it feels more like filler at this point.

I'm bored of the crap Hollywood puts out due to the repetitive nature of the stories. I'm bored of Western, Japanese and Chinese comics for the same reason and Korean comics are getting close to that level as well. The video game industry is also complete shit, since I generally only like single player stuff and despise micro-crap, not to mention that I'm an adult now and can't afford the hardware.

Adult games tho... They are allowed to explore various elements that other mediums simply can't, or are afraid to try. They allow me to explore fantasies outside of the norm that I could have only dreamed of. Which I guess is comforting to know I'm not alone in those fantasies? They also have allowed me to explore fantasies that I never even knew I wanted or enjoyed. Plus, adult games have a low barrier of entry. Allowing me to play on my old, shitty laptop for the majority of games. I can also throw a couple of bucks here or there when I desire due to that low entry level. Which naturally makes me fell slightly less poor overall.

That said, I think I am slowly growing more disconnected with adult games similar to other mediums. Most games either fall outside of my niche, or incorporate the same stories, or try to add generic western stories with an adult element twist. Finding games is becoming more difficult overtime. Likely due to the "exclude" feature being added which caused me to become picker about which games to play. So... I suppose that the cost and low hardware requirement may be my main reason now I guess?
