Why does every story start with dead parents?

Serious question. Is it an inside joke, laziness or a look into the mind of the community at large?

It's almost every story. Why can't most just be about a guy that likes pussy and then tries to get pussy in an otherwise somewhat situation or environment?

Thanks for any clarification.

Not every story, at least two thirds of them have the offspring wanting to fuck one of them.

but it is not almost every game. Also Batman's, Superman's and Megamind's stories for example all start with the death of their parents.

It's one of the tropes of half arsed incest plots.

Dead dad, single mother, 2 sisters, older sister usually hates him while the younger sister loves him .... also usually has a slutty aunt.

If both parents are dead the slutty aunt now has 2 daughters, see above they are the same, and is slightly less slutty.

I say slightly less because, for reasons unknown to anyone with a working brain, the mere sight of a penis turns her into a drooling fucknugget who can't manage to go a day without sneaking into his room to touch it.

Despite having kids and a sex life for many years.

It's all fucking weird.

You will also find reviews by people saying that it's the best story they have ever read because when it comes to incest, standards mean nothing.

So, yeah, dead dad/both parents is usually a sign of lazy writing and it's more than likely going to be shit because games that came before it already did it better.

Hey, hey!! I'm making a game with a dead mother where the son cucks his sisters by fucking his dad. It's going to be fucking amazing and all of you will play it and enjoy it!

On a more serious note, stories gotta begin with some sort of change or else why would the shit that is happening now only starting to happen now when we all of a sudden tune into the MC's life. Turns out that killing family members off opens all sorts of doors.

Not sure you know what clickbait is but ok. I'd have accepted literally one reply explaining why damn near every story has this trope, I'm not fishing for 1000 replies, clicks or attention. I even said it was a legit question as I'd like to know the root of this trope. I didn't write
"Guess what I have a question about...YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!"
No, it's as straightforward a question as one could ask. That's the opposite of clickbait.

Also, SOME stories start with tragedy. Sure. To compare 3 superhero stories to the overwhelming number of AVNs that have the trope feels disingenuous and a tad lazy.
The front page of the games section currently hosts about half that start with a dead parent or parents. That's crazy lmao. Seemingly every synopsis:
"You start as a young man that just finished college...and your parents died in an airplane collision"

"You play as Billy, a mild mannered teenager that cannot decide what soda to buy from the vending machine. Oh, did I mention that your parents just died? No? Well, they did. Horribly"

It's clearly an overused trope and I'd like to know if there is some deeper reason beyond bad writing.

I guess it's the trope I'm curious about more than the specific number or percentage some here seem obsessed with. "No, not most! It's definitely less than 66.3% and therefore less than the total of..."
Who cares. You have to get my overall point. Haha.
So, fine. How about A LOT? Like, way too many. Is that better?

This feels like the best answer. Laziness and bad writing seem to be it, I just didn't know if it was an inside joke or something.
Thanks for being cool (and funny) about it.

Yeah maybe these plots were a new thing back in the Big Brother days, but now it's just overused garbage.
All this kind of games are extremely boring with mediocre writing, apart for certain exceptions like echoes or lust, summer with mia, and Altered destiny.

I think they should go for more realistic approach, like MC getting sent to a psychiatrist, or i don't know the army like in big brother where he get wounded then the landlady would feel regrets...etc

Your words not mine. Then there is this:

So if it is not Click-Bait then, prove to me that both comments you made are true. Unless of course you are just trolling? or Spamming?

Not all stories, just lots of them, very common plot device is all.
Read any compilation book of children's stories/fairy stories, lots of them have the same contrivance.

It is often used with the intent of instilling an element of sympathy in the reader.
It is often used with the intent of instilling an element of jealousy/envy in the reader (for the percieved freedom of protagonist's development).
It is often used to easily explain the reasons for rebellious/disruptive/outsider character traits.
It is often used to separate the protagonist from the usual mentors and therefore cultural/philosophical/religious behavioural restrictions.
It allows the author a fairly blank slate socially and allows them to avoid the difficulties of close interpersonal relationships.

However if all you are looking for is guy likes pussy, guy gets pussy I would have to agree it is probably a completely unnecessary plot device (indeed in that case there isn't much need for any plot device).

Almost all :mad:disney  princesses say hello to you... other fairy tales too... Batman & Superman and many/many other heroes... Lara Croft passes a fiery kiss to you too... :p

So as you can see this is not the fault of the porn/incest games.

Let's be clear on something. There is NO real talent/professional writer among the game creators. They are simply copying shit from each other. Having that in mind ... you can expect only idiotic resemblance of plots. The so called script writers in this industry are just pathetic excuse for a "word combiners". The overrated IPs are the clearest examples on that subject. Just look at the top supported games and tell me that their creator have half a brain. It's either some teenage pointless mess ... some milfy city clone ... or pretentious plot driven - with plot so idiotic that you can't create even a child color book out of it :)

Actually there are a couple of professional writers that have books for sale making games.

Sierra Lee has books out, Superwriter has books out, Coceter Chronicles is based on a book the dev wrote and Tlaero is a writer.

Probably quite a lot more than that too.

Tolkien wrote a book about a several people, and some fantasy races, travelling around fighting Orcs while 2 tiny people travelled with something that looked like my sisters ex after a drunken one night stand while they went to throw a magic invisibility ring into a fucking volcano.....

I doubt Tolkien ever did any of that IRL.

Agree with u on principle....but a instructional or in this case cooking book is not the same as fiction...
Well, it is.

You don't need to be able to do something to make shit up.

Thing about cooking books is you don't need to be able to cook to put one together. Go back and watch Jamie Oliver when he first started on TV. Half the shit he did was just making stuff up. Cooking is all about experimenting.

Some people are far better at explaining things to others than doing things themselves. My girlfriend has lived with me long enough to explain a loit of things I cook to others yet fails every time herself.

P.S. none of the people I mentioned wrote cooking books so point is moot.
