So i was wondering Is there any deeper reasons why game developers don't setup a wordpress sites with membership plugin for their games?
That's like asking why don't fast food restaurants open in the desert. It's hard to attract business and pick of curious consumers already in the area for similar products. It's also difficult to market and to build trust with a simple standalone website when consumers could have a third-party entity which has already built that trust. Also, though I haven't looked lately, almost all the membership plug-ins I remember for Wordpress from several years ago either required Paypal or a similar service or the entity had to have their own merchant account. Either way, they'd still be dealing with usage policies for credit cards dealing with content guidelines. So i was wondering Is there any deeper reasons why game developers don't setup a wordpress sites with membership plugin for their games?
I think the main reason is that Patreon acts like a "shield" of sorts for creators, it's not just an easier way to collect donations etc.So i was wondering Is there any deeper reasons why game developers don't setup a wordpress sites with membership plugin for their games?
Then, like implied by Count Morado above, depending of the payment processor you can use with this plug-in, you're fucked deep in the ass. What you are allowed to host on your website is more about who hosts it and where its hosted. So you'd need to find a porn-friendly host to host your website, and then set up wordpress & plugins on that host once you have an account to begin building your website.
I don’t think so, cause many already do this with itch.ioSo i have a stupid question, For example lets say a dev posts the latest arts of game model in the member only site or forum depending on the plugins, And send the links of game via mail or private message to all the paid members. Does that break any rules?
