I mean the same can be said about any form of entertainment no? It all comes down to connecting with the protagonist be it imaging ourselves as them or imagining ourselves as just controlling them. Sure I'm a guy and it's weird to imagine myself as a girl so I just imagine myself as controlling their actions. Same thing for male protagonist games that don't give me an option to name my character. I'm still controlling the male protagonist as a character.

In movies, TV shows, or books, I can still relate to characters that are different from what I am in reality. I can watch Atomic Blonde, Arrival, Mad Max Fury Road, or Wonder Woman and still be able to watch scenes where the female character is prominent. It's not that different in games. I can play a game like Tomb Raider or Bayonetta and still enjoy them even if I'm playing a female protagonist. I can create a female character in Black Desert Online or other MMO's or GTA Online. I don't see why porn games have to be any different.

Ultimately, it is just a matter of preference. But the beauty of tags is that we can see if a game matches up with our preferences. If it doesn't, we just skip it and look for something else. We all have our own tastes. :)
Exactly, at least it fit to our tastes it's just fine.

It's not because you're a boy you're forced to play with a male hero. I loved tomb raider and Lara croft heroine because she's strong, smart with a real background behind and is a very well written heroine and not a dumb bimbo girl.

When she kicked Larson's face in first tomb raider in 1996 when i was kid i was like "oh wow she's really baddass she's strong".

It's same about male hero, when a chars have a bad background it's hard to follow him even in a adult game.

I think even for a adult game, peoples should take time to write the hero/heroine background it's important it'll really help to feel what he/she'll feel or endure during the game.

The thing is peoples should think heroine/baddass and sexy game is compatible.

The heroine just need to be well written that's all :)

It's my point of view again only :)

Reading over this thread i have noticed that a common complaint when it comes to female protags are that you dont really have control, I actually have seen less in ways of female protags but normally when i see them, it does seem to be a case of not having the control over her, and she being corrupted or raped or whatever else by external sources.

that being said, what about a female protag who is doing the corrupting, who gets to decide how every choice plays out, who ultimately can turn down the option for sex as a whole? Does being in control make the idea of a female protag more enticing, or is it still a no go for some of you?

The way female protagonists are handled is different in each case... But there is a trend, more towards things happening to the protagonist that may not always feel like the player/reader has full control over stuff happening to the protagonist or not... Not always, but in a lot of cases, a female protagonist ends up being treated more or less like a target of corruption or other events, rather then the instigator of those things, like with male protagonists, most of the time... Which most likely is because it's males who are writing the story or developing the game... And they don't always have the clear understanding of the female psyche... Women do not think the same way as men think women do... Sure there are similarities, but what drives a woman's thoughts and desires isn't usually the same as with a guy... But most guys don't have the experience to know that, or they just don't understand it and sometimes don't care... You can typically, but not always, tell when a female protagonist is written into a story/game by a guy...

There are some female protagonists in some VN/Games, that are treated more like they are the ones in control and/or command of choices... But it is rare... I would like to see more female protagonist VN/Games where they are treated in the same way most male protagonists are treated... Being the instigator/facilitator rather then the target/victim...

I'm not an immersive player, I'm not part of game world. Therefore I don't need a character to identify with, the protagonist is not "me". I don't like to watch another man fuck, so I prefer lesbian porn in any case, be it in game, movie or pictures. A lesbian game by necessity has a female protagonist and I don't like any male characters involved in the sex scenes.

There are very few male protagonist straight games I play, but they don't even come close to lesbian games for me. I don't play any female protagonist straight games.

That's one thing most bad female leads have, the sex options are usually the bad options, either she gets blackmailed, groped by an old man or simply raped upon defeat. I would much rather have the sex content as a reward for playing well than the easy solution or outright bad endings.

I found the topic most interesting because the game im making involves a female protagonist, and while sex is a VERY heavy focus, the reward for actions is more and more hard core content. She however at no point is at the mercy of another person, and can be as cruel or kind a you want, even going so far as to sell your first companion to a slave trade. The first attempt at extortion for example does not result in her submitting unless you really want to, but instead you dismantling the person and their organization piece by piece and corrupting the people involved, or just discrediting them so they no longer show up

That really sucks. Personally when playing games with female protagonists, I avoid any encounters with male characters and play lesbian content only. I'd prefer more powerful female protagonists, who could kill any attempted rapist (immediately and in a non-sexualized way by ripping his head off, not a day after the assault by putting poison into his beer).

Find me 5 games with a female protagonist that don't have a corruption tag

I actually find it to be great! As long as it's done properly...
It's not easy to write a female perspective, while being a man. It takes talent, or being a woman yourself, at least.

In female main character games I go full corruption at every turn for some reason. Not very satisfying at the end of the day though.

Maybe it's because in male MC games I have to take the long and winding road to pussydom, I dunno. :D

Most female MCs I've tried tend to be not really first person view, more like a passive bystander, waiting for moi.

This talk about ''female psyche'' and ''male psyche'' makes me cringe a bit tbh. I'm a hairy-ass slob of a male, yet I haven't had the stereotypical approach to sexuality since, like, 12 years old and it's still a work in progress. These things can deviate a lot based on upbringing, experiences, social circles... I don't think there's a universal ''psyche'' for any gender, there's just too much flexibility there. If we're talking about norms, sure, but I don't think there's anything truly hardwired that isn't subject to change under the right circumstances, indeed the norms change as society progresses. So it seems a bit silly to talk about ''female psyche'' for fictional characters made for a fantasy-fulfilling sex game. They can be whatever you want, including traits that deviate from the norm.

that being said, what about a female protag who is doing the corrupting, who gets to decide how every choice plays out, who ultimately can turn down the option for sex as a whole? Does being in control make the idea of a female protag more enticing, or is it still a no go for some of you?
For a female corruptor MC, I don't mind, not any more than a male protag. Depends on their personality. They should either be relatively unobtrusive like, say, in Rogue-Like, and/or offer lots of dialogue options to tailor to my approach to the corruption theme. In the end, I'm not so concerned about what the corruptor gets out of it or what they are, rather more on the person being corrupted. That said, if she's well-written and somehow relatable (i.e. not some uber dom bitch), I would slightly prefer that over a similar male MC, if only because I find the idea of female pervs sexy in a way.

But my favorite type of character to play is female MC that is being corrupted. Some of my favorite games involve female MCs in difficult situations where they get nudged into corruption but you can choose to resist it and it has an effect on how things play out. I'm actually the type of player who might go the purity/minimal sex route in a sex game, that's because I like to self-insert in games like these. Besides, the longer you hold out, the more degrading when you finally take the first steps into corruption. That's my favorite part in any of these games that let you set the pace.

Are there any games where the mom/aunt/sister/whatever is the corruptor of her male family member(s)? Not counting the husband/boyfriend/fiancee obviously, we'll get rid of him post haste. :extremelyhappy:

I generally avoid playing as a male. Especially when most males seem to be around 18, look about 15, and only care about fucking their mom and sister. Granted, the lechertown female is overdone, but if I'd put them side by side with the incest-driven male prog games, I'd tally that the mother/sister fuckers have them beat.

So for the same reasons there's a lot of disdain for female MC games, I have the exact same issues with male ones. Overdone cliches. However, even in situations that I'm not sexually into, if the character development and writing is done right, I can still get into the game. Like Sissy Maker for example. You play a male MC, who has a renter who wants to become female/trans. You help this character over time, and even start to question your own sexuality along the way as you become closer and intimate. Or Two Sides. You start as a male, and within the first 10 minutes, have a choice to suck a cock to get out of a bad situation. Something a lot of straight guys have thought about doing but would never admit it, this game allows you to take the dive right off the bat.

There are games like Free Friends 1 and 2, where you play a guy, basically taking advantage of females with money troubles. They all turn into rape simulators though, and I personally have problems with playing the character doing the bad things. I can be the one to take it all day, and even get off on it, but when it comes time for me to be the one to do the harm...It's just not what trips my trigger.

There's "sooo many of them" because girls (and women) play adult games like everyone else.
Games made for women tend to have a bit different character design with that male body types you see in porn novel covers, less sex scenes, focus on romance. For those the answer is "we want the female audience".
The games OP is talking about are most likely targeted at men where it's about corrupting a girl into encountering degrading sex and being exhibitionist and things of that nature. For those games the answer comes down to what do men like.

Things like living in the 3rd world like russia and being indoctrinated into finding gay people gross do affect what people are willing to accept in the games. If you're set against something it's easy to then look for reasons to dislike it.
"Oh no, my playable character is having sex with men and Putin told me it's going to teach me to gay".
