Why pancakes?

I mean... I fully expect that the meals are not really a primary concern for any MC in any of the games, and I do appreciate that people can have the weirdest of kinks and fetishes.. but... why are pancakes so ubiquitous in these games?
They seem to be all the MCs eat..at any time of day... and it's even mentioned here and there in some of the games.
Is the Dev world secretly run by a cabal of pancake enthusiasts? :D

pancakes are delish, and are extremely customisable. Altho in porn games mc tends to have them often, i thnk timezones is a good example
i would say the devs are just fans and its probably easier to create in daz/blender

I always assumed that much like the constant ramen, it's just a free asset so it's easier than making your own.

I don't know about Japanese developers, but I know that on some Reddit writing forums "pancakes" or "having pancakes" are euphemisms for sexy stuff. I've seen it on r/HFY, and I think I remember someone mentioning it on AO4 once or twice too. I think it came from a chapter with an explicit sex scene on one of the long running stories, and the title of the chapter was "Pancakes", and it became an in-joke after that point.

Probably because a lot of games have scenes which take place in areas like kitchens, restaurants, dorm rooms, etc.

Or maybe OP was correct, and there really is a conspiracy afoot by a cabal of pancake enthusiasts!
