for some time now, I've noticed that a large portion of the new releases are focused on netorare and/or futa

I've noticed the opposite thing tbh. In the past months I felt like very few NTR games were published, and of those few, even fewer where of my liking.

I'd say right now there's a general crisis when it comes to games in general, even more with NTR games, in terms of both quality and quantity.
