Generic garbage.
I didn't have high expectations but this was still quite the let down.
Gameplay 2/5
At the end of the day this is a kinetic novel. It's a long hallway where you read a lot of text. There's 8 chapters in total in which you play a bejeweled minigame 4 times per chapter. The minigame means nothing, play until you win, again, it's a kinetic novel. So, is bejeweled fun? Meh. Play one, you've played them all. There's nothing really special about the mini-game.
They introduced some upgrade mechanics which you'll need to grind some previous levels to purchase the upgrades. But really, this mini-game isn't that fun to play.
Story 2/5
Generic garbage. Evil empire takes over the world. Protag rebels, unites the people, fights back and wins. Each chapter you convince another person to join your party. But wow is the writing terrible. MC is some rebirth of some past human hero. Doesn't go further than that. So this lets him convince the vamp lord to join him.
Elves hate humans. But someone he convinces some head elf to join him with words and fighting. I mean, I'm not a good writer myself so I can't write about how bad this writing is.
The last enemy, Diadora, is too powerful. Like, storywise, she's too powerful. Who the fuck is she? Some human who's somehow more powerful than a ancestral vampire, the red dragon race, and the hodgepodge of people you collect throughout the story? Ridiculous. It's just bad writing.
Translation 1/5
Why am I rating the translation? Good question. The translation is usually a footnote (MTL, non-native speaker, fully translated) and then you deal with it. But it was bad enough to rate.
Beastman. Say it with me. Beastman. Not a fucking furry. Not the furry race. Translate it as beastmen.
Another thing is the profanity. The translator interlaces 'fuck' and 'fucking' all over the place. It's just unpleasant to read.
The translator also puts in some anachronisms, because why not?
The translator is not a native English speaker.
Then there's translations that are just plain wrong. I'm a weeb and so I recognize some Japanese. As this game is female voice acted, I can sometimes tell when the translator goes off the rails.
The worst translations are when there's translated text while the voice actress says "mmmhmmm mmmm mmhmmhmm". Like I can literally tell she didn't say what the translation says because she didn't say anything at all.
Art 2/5
This one is a real let down because the original reason I wanted to try this game was due to the art. The artist who drew the art is not bad, but holy crap he can't draw legs to save his life. Don't look at the female's legs because they look deformed and stunted.
Hentai 2/5
The protag is on a magical journey to save the world. Then he effectively rapes a couple of his female companions. Not all of them, some of them willingly fuck him. But one female he blackmails into having sex with him. Another he just basically rapes.
I mean, for hentai, I'm not necessarily against that. But in the context of the story, where he's on a magical journey to save the world and these are his precious comrades? It's jarring to say the least.
Like he's normal and valiant normally. Then click for the sex scene and he becomes a different person and a sexual deviant. Basically, if the MC acted like Rance, then go ahead and rape away, but the MC mostly acts like a valiant goody two shoes most of the time.
The actual art itself is... alright.
But the reason the rating is so low for this category is the sparseness. The hentai is optional and you could play the game without it. Per chapter there's 2 hentai scenes optionally available at the end.
Time wise, it should take about 5-10 hours to beat this game and there's about 10 minutes worth of hentai. That means at best this game is like 3% hentai. For game with such a shitty story, the hentai doesn't save it.
Overall 1/5
Is this the worst game I've ever played? No. But this game was a giant waste of time. Weak generic story, generic protagonist, not-fun gameplay, and crappy immature non-native speaker translation.
