I doubt it upon reading through the changelogs. It seems like they pretty much rebuilt the game at the previous version, hence the save game incompatability
there is an built in cheat mode alread in the game, so the mod seems to not be needed anymore
It actually never was needed, at the built-in cheat has been a long-time feature
This mod pointed players to so-called «best» options, like other Ren'py games (usually VN's)
The thing is that with Witch Trainer Silver, you sometimes will (should) want to pick «wrong» options, just for the fun or reading the hilarious results, which Lain's mod made you systematically miss

Despite the description, this mod will work on most Ren'Py games (Ren'Py engine v6.99.14 and later). The game currently has an updated main engine v8.0.0. Previously, it ran on an older engine. You can play with it and change lines of code. However, this is tedious work. The latest version is now Ren'Py 8.5.0.
Universal Ren'Py Mod v2.6.2 needs updating.

Notice the "last seen" field and how it says that Maid Lain hasn't logged in to this site since march of last year.
