Ren'Py With Ren'Py VN, do you prefer to have First Person POV or to be able see you character in scenes?

The question kinda came to me after playing a few games, and I'm curious what everyone else feels like. Do you like not seeing what your character looks like, to see it all from his eyes? Or do you prefer to see the character within the game? And to be clear, I don't mean just Third Person View, with camera over shoulder. I mean like seeing your character from different angles in scenes.

Really curious what everyone thinks on this.

I'm not interested in seeing MC, but I'd like to see girls from different angles. And usually those camera positions are not POV of any character in the scene.

For example, what you gonna see from POV in a doggy position is completely different from what a separate camera could catch. Like showing emotions on your partner's face when climaxing.

In general, first person POV is the best. Visual novels are designed to be made this way. It is immersive, satisfying, and also reduces your workload. If you choose to show the MC as a character you'd better have a damn good reason for it.

Sex scenes are a different story of course, as POV can be incredibly limiting.

I don't need the protagonist to be a faceless, featureless shit, or my perfect copy, to maintain my immersion. Also, POV is super limiting artistically, so seeing the MC is my choice.

Both. Ratio like 20% POV scenes and 70% MC visible and 10% freestyle. I am so annoyed in AVNs having a dialogue for 5 minutes in just POV.
In my game there is a quiet long drive in a Van with two people. Imagine the whole scene in POV looking at the street. Or kiss scenes in POV also looking so weird. Imho a game loses so much just using POV.

one thing that annoys me, is that in some FMC games. there are switches between various pov's. 3rd person and male POV. FPOV was excluded for some reason. i guess that is to cater to those players that suffers from "dickophobia"

This. If I play as a FMC, I want her POV. Whenever there's a male POV in a FMC game, it makes me think that it's just straight men's insecurity. They don't self insert, so what's the problem?

Depends on situation and mood. I'm sure people love when you masturbate, all time you not see male character and instantly close up to his face during climax .
