VN Working on my first game, looking for feedback

Hi all
I've been on this forum for a few years now, and have enjoyed many of the games here
But after playing some of the new AI generated games here, I've decided that I wanted to try my own hand at making a game

Now I know that many people don't like AI art, which is perfectly fine
But since I'm not an artist, and I'm really planning on a pure passion project (totally free, no Patreon etc), it's really the only way I could go

With that aside, I was mainly inspired by Netorase Phone, which quickly became one of my new favorites
I'm thinking of creating a similar style game, with interactions based on a chat app
I did go with a different art style, one I'm personally liking, but I would love your opinions on, so see the images below (first two characters)
Also note, images are still WIP, even some of the previews below still require further editing

If you're reading this and thinking of commenting about "EW!! AI art slop" or something like that, please refrain and move on, there are plenty of games for you to play
But if you have actual criticism, I would appreciate your inputs (they can be as negative as you want, just please try to be constructive, and lets avoid being rude in general)

I could be wrong, but I think BF (in this case) stands for Best Friend, not Boyfriend.

Personally, I am fine with AI art. The subject matter is an different issue for me.

I think the style looks great. Definitely distinct from the other popular AI CG games here.

If you're still in the "picking a style" phase, I definitely recommend taking a look at some of the checkpoints based on Illustrious instead of Pony. The Illustrious checkpoints I've tried are a lot better about avoiding glitches like extra fingers and limbs flowing into each other.

The Pony LoRA's aren't compatible with Illustrious though, and there are a lot more Pony LoRA's than Illustrious LoRA's. So there is a downside. I'm just very impressed with what Illustrious can do easily that Pony struggles with.

What exactly do you mean with different style? Honestly I don't see any difference. Not sure but I also think if you change the blonde girls hair and eye color they would be twins. I don't know anything about creating Adult AI images.. is there a base figure? Maybe using second base figure that looks much different would be better.

With this style there's not a lot of facial differences, other than shading, to be had other than face shape, eye size, nose size, and mouth size. It looks like the artist made a bit of effort since the LI's eyes are bigger and mouth is smaller than the BFF by a bit.

If you mean the BFF, it's the same girl, just with a different hairstyle, not two different girls
But I do get your point

I'll probably start working on a third character, and see if I can get a more distinct facial design

These images look nice to me, but at the same time they have too much of an "ai art look". Maybe with a different model and some tune you can achieve better results.

Your art style is the same, literally no difference and as someone else pointed out the two characters share a lot of similarities in their face but I don't think that's a big deal and depending on your story that could even be a benefit.

My only feedback would be to the game itself:
1. Make the UI nice if you're going for a phone style game.
2. Be consistent with the image sizes so some aren't wider than others for seemingly no reason. Portrait (selfies, normal photos etc) or landscape, depending on the scene, right.

I don't think you have to worry about the art since the AI does the heavy lifting there unless you want to do AI generated animations in which case you may have more trouble and require more experimentation (no idea). You could mix and match if you wanted, generate backgrounds and models separately so you can have your backgrounds be an actual different art style and just join them together afterwards.

It would be helpful if you could define what you mean by NTS, NTR etc
Because I've seen debates about what these really mean

But to answer as best as I can, my plan is to have the main plot similar to Netorase Phone, meaning about the MC's GF playing with other people (other men, her female friends, maybe others)
I also want to enable the MC to play around with the female characters (though I'll try to build a route without it, for people that don't want it, though it would basically be less content)
But I do have several ideas I would like to explore, that aren't in Netorase Phone (some may be in the future, like the MC being in a threesome with his GF and another, either one of her female friends or one of the male characters), some probably won't be (The next two character I'm going to introduce are the MC's step sister, and a futa friend of your GF, both of which would have fully avoidable content, for people who aren't interested in these genres)

I'm always open to suggestions, if anyone has any
At this point, I'm mostly trying to generate the characters I want with the features I want, while formulating their traits and relationships
So I haven't actually written the plot or events, thus there is plenty of room for your suggestions

The definitions are overly simplistic, but correct. All forms of NTR involve some form of emotional destruction and/or corruption. The only real difference between all the types is the path and direction of said destruction/corruption.

Yeah, progress is a thing. There's nothing saying that netorase can't progress to something else, or vice versa. I was just saying that it can't be both at the same time.
