Would you play a game with simple art like this?

Working on a couple games right now, basically VNs though more text-based with animated pixel art for character sprites and H-scenes
I'm kind of using these games as a way to improve my art and also release something fappable, by not having the art be the forefront - basically a text adventure, with art simple to let you use their imagination
But I'm wondering if it's even worth putting any in, like it might be so basic it'd detract from it

No, I wouldn't, unless the story was something so tantalizing that overcame the deficit.

Yes. As someone who's getting tired of seeing the same DAZ assets over and over again, a change in artstyle is a welcome change. Just make sure the game is worth playing.

I'm not into text-based VNs, but seeing original art is always good. Even though my own game is all Daz-based, it's only out of pure necessity that I use it instead making my own art.

There will always be a place for originality, especially yours. Just try to remember what you're focus would be. Make sure one doesn't detract from the other. If it's text-based, visual art should be secondary (I imagine).

Any graphics can both add depth. Of course, I am for any graphics, in my opinion it is always better with it than without it.
But I think it's worth adding even the simplest sound. For example, when you open the door, the sound of the door creaking or slamming should be played. This adds a lot of life to the text. It is the presence of both the picture and the sound and the addition of interactivity that distinguishes the game from fan fiction or comics.

I think original artwork, especially pixilated, has a place in the industry. I'd like to see more examples of your work, but in theory I think it can work. Personally, I would like to see a lot of it though. I don't want a game with only a light dusting of images. In my head I feel like that's three trade off for not using DAZ, I can live with fewer images in DAZ but I want more images of the way is 2d. Others may feel differently.
