Howdy all, my name is Crab and I'm looking to get into more freelancing work of all kinds. While there are more traditional pathways for freelancing opportunities, few things are as immersion breaking (and as annoying) in video games or visual novels as a typo, so I figured I'd make a post here to try and do my part in eradicating the scourge of typos, grammar mistakes, poorly-written sentences, and so on.

Skills:
I'm something of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to my past work/education in writing, editing, proofreading, and other related areas (like developmental editing). I haven't really tried my hand at long-form erotica yet, but I have read a fair bit of it over the years so I do have some sense of what's cringe and what's been done well. I've also got ~5 years of experience working with peers in a college setting as a writing consultant, reviewing and revising their academic content depending on how well it matched up with the scope of their objectives. I also have a MA in Creative Writing (Fiction), so I have a strong grasp of the writing process and how to identify weak areas.

Preferred method of contact:
Initially, probably just DMs on here, moving to Discord later. If DMs on F95 turn out to be a tedious system to use, I'll edit this so that it's just Discord for simplicity's sake.

Employment Type & Rates:

Rates vary, but mainly depend on the thoroughness of the review desired. If all you care about is wiping out surface-level mistakes like typos and grammar, that'll cost less than rewriting text to improve quality/readability or reviewing and critiquing what works well in the narrative/scenes and what doesn't.

Copyediting/Proofreading (grammar, typos): $0.02 per word*
Line Editing (highlighting poor writing, offering improved revisions): $0.025 per word*
Developmental Editing (in-depth review, overall critique of strengths/weaknesses): $0.03 per word*

*Rates are negotiable, and are just based on the EFA's posted rates. Revenue sharing is also something I'm open to for long-term projects, but I haven't done enough research as to the viability of it compared to standard rates.

Availability:
Open availability, will edit if this changes.

Work Samples:
For privacy reasons I don't have any samples yet to put here, but I'm happy to review a small sample of text if you're unsure if I'd be a good fit. When I do get some samples I'll edit this post accordingly.

Additional comments:
I take the quality of my work very seriously, so unless a particular project has text added after I've already reviewed it, my aim is to never have a mistake on any project after I've concluded my work with it. I don't remember the particular game I found on F95 awhile back, but one game that I played listed a proofreader (or proofreaders, I forget) in its opening credits, and soon after that opening it became obvious that things were missed.

Additionally, I'm open to help people brainstorm creatively for their projects and a variety of writing/editing-related help (enhancing translations from other languages, for example) as needed.

I think that's about it, feel free to reply here or shoot me a DM if something above caught your eye.
