And here I go with another review that makes my heart ache to write because the DEV of this game is competent in many aspects, but... this game has a huge flaw.
(Warning: There will be spoilers below!)
(I stopped the game a little after the protagonist finds his childhood friend, who he is already dating, like the entire cast of the game...)
I think it makes more sense to point out all the good things first since it is a somewhat negative review, and, argh, I really hate writing so poorly about something that I technically liked so much in the first few hours...
The game has incredible models, I don't think I need to say much about that since you can see for yourself, but it is worth saying that there is a lot of love put not only into the girls but also into the environment. The story seems natural in the first hour of the game, you are captivated to know what will happen next, and the game gives you that false idea that you will be "cheating" on your girlfriend if you stay with your friend (who is originally trans but can be a cis woman), but you can also keep her in a friendzone, anyway. It is interesting how the dialogues that follow these lines are thought out and worked.
Romance is the focus here even though his Girlfriend is the most CUCK person in the whole world. I have no problem with that since we are entering an era where NTR is on the rise, having something "purely romantic" clinging to a harem to balance it out is great too. I play both and yes, the romance here is cool.
But this is where the problems of this game begin too...
Too much romance, and the protagonist is too nice for a human being, I never thought I would say that but; too many random girls jumping on your lap!
Holy Buddha enlighten me, but I don't believe there is another protagonist like this in any other game. The guy is a SAINT! I tell you, it's almost infuriating... DEV even tried to have an event there where a random jerk who hates the MC for a random reason (?), punches the MC's mother just because (?), and the MC beats him almost to death because he had a trigger or something. All this after MC was beaten by 6 guys, one holding a bat at that. Yes, yes, he gained powers too, apparently. (Just irony)
He suffered all that and didn't even break a single bone, slept for a day, and Voila! Firm and strong, fucking half the cast... Sigh.
I wanted to see the MC playing basketball, I wanted to see him exploring the love triangle relationship, maybe have some arguments, and serious problems, but no. The biggest problem so far seems to be the MAIN GIRLFRIEND's MOTHER! That his GF insists on wanting to have her around, even though she's a dumb fucker who sees her husband doing shit and talking shit, and instead of leaving him, she stays and wants her daughters to stay too. In what kind of shitty world would a sane adult, with an abusive father and a nut mother, want to have her around when she's found a new family? I know that neediness exists, but there's a limit to things. This game wants to simulate something close to real life, with social media, college, relationships, hell even 3D models. Don't come telling me "Oh but it's a game blah blah blah", of course, we want a little logic tho! At least a little! It's supposed to be fun and to escape reality, but it needs to have a minimum of logic... And nothing there does.
The protagonist treats any girl MINIMALLY WELL and she already gets all wet, man... it's unbelievable that the best excuse for this is "they all have problems in their family". The only guy (one of the few MANS) who had a girlfriend, he's actually gay, he never had sex with his girlfriend who is conveniently a virgin and now she wants to give it to the MC. Seriously, it's shitty, to say the least.
And don't even get me started on how clingy they are! Hell! And they kiss all day long, "I love you this, I love you that", man, they say I love you so much that the word loses its importance! It's so broken how convenient everything happens, and how the MC is always the kind-hearted one who helps everyone... "Wow, he gave me a ride, damn, I'm in love!" it seems like a joke but no, that's how stupid it is! It's stupid at this point...
Bailey, I refused her once in the game and I never had any options with her again. Tia, I've already refused her 3 times and she continues to chase the MC, haha. This is unbalanced, a "normal" answer that you give to the characters can block routes just because. I could sit here all day talking about how frustrated I was with this game because I was genuinely looking for a good romance, and this seemed to be it, but no, the curve here went even further.
I recommend you try the game if you have time, it's not a bad game, but be very patient with the excess of "romance".
I could give it a 2.5, it has its moments, I liked some things and I give it credit for that. But since I can't give it 2.5, it will be 2.
