A visual novel with a card game tacked on.
Ever play GWENT before? It felt like a part of that world, right? Well the card game in X-Angels is not that. You play out a story, a somewhat linear one, where you are combating the forces of good? Evil? By mind controlling their top fighters into your command, dicking them down good, and eventually corrupting them to your will.
I'll be perfectly honest, the story, was utter toss. It did not gel with me and I ended up passing over most of it at light speed so I could get to the card battles, which are, or should have been, the selling point. I did come to play a fun card game with hentai attached, but the card game itself felt pretty RNG based luck, and many of the mechanics felt frankensteined together.
They should have just kept things simple with a few mechanics, because when you got one hand in the pants and the other on the mouse, the last thing you want is to be crunching numbers to determine your next move. Look at Dick-Up from MILFs Control, simplistic and fun. Even HuniPop's Bejewled knock off was this way, simple and fun. Your rewards being sexy fun times. But that's not the case in X-Angle, card games are just how you progress missions, not how you earn the sex.
For that you must earn the favor of the angels you abduct, giving them things, talking to them, hanging out with them, the usual stuff you'd do in a VN. But with a droning story and a card game that feels broken as heck, the grind to get a girl's full affection is, annoying, at best.
If you're in the mood for a fun game card game with sexy times included, go try one of those strip blackjack or poker games, at least the mechanics there are easy to understand. But don't bother with X-Angel, you'll waste way too much time and end up softer than turtle soup by the time you get any good reward.
