Hello, I'm making this thread so we can share our favorites "not very well-known"games and kinda makes others people wants to try them. Instead of making a simple 1.2.3 list, I encourage you to explain why you choosed them and why you think theses games are great (with or without a sample of your review). Here is mine to begin with :

1. Lyla's Curse

This game just blew my mind the first time I played it, everything is very polished: the art style/story/characters are original and well done, it's well animated, it's not grindy, there is a good sense of humor, a touch of cute things. Lyla's Curse is kind of game that have a soul, something very rare actually especially for an adult game.

It's the game with the most potential out there imo and the develloper is actually doing a crazy amount of work fo this game as I can see on his patreon, there is no re-used assets or anything: everything is made from scratch with its own identity and when you play the game you really feels immersed in something special. Just amazing.

2. Camille : The Countdown
Obiously very different style from Lyla's Curse and much more straightforward, it's VN with 3D renders.
Even if it's only the start I really like the way the story/scenes goes on this one: there is not a shit ton of useless speach that I end up skiping like others VN, in this one the dialogues makes the story progress quickly in a good way but it's not "on your face" str8 to the porn either. It's just the perfect pace the genre, I hope the rest continues like that while focusing on making good erotic situations.
The characters, the situations and the story aims to be more realistic than other games, Camille (The MC) also have a lot of charm, she does not look like just another perfect VN model and that's the best thing about her. The renders are top quality and the next update is probably going to add a lot more to the game with the introduction of choices and more content.

It's pretty much my favorite 3D VN in the genre.

3. Selena: One Hour Agent

In this game, you take the role of a special agent charged to resolves cases within 1 hour, after that the police takes charges and the case and you pretty much failed.
Now what is interesting about this game: the translation of the plot into the gameplay is very well done. This is the first RPGM that I'm playing that truly reward the player trough gameplay and not grinding.

Let me explain: In order to time-gate the content, most PPGM will reward the player if they do some repetitive boring tasks a ton of time, but in this game the content itself takes time and you never feels like you are grinding. Instead you are looking around, talking to NPCs, thinking, and the game naturally rewards you with lewd content.

The progression in this game is just very well made imo, at least it's way better than pretty much every other RPG. The dialogues/renders are also decent, even if there is a emphasis on characters being stupidly harsh/blackmailing that I don't really like.

There is very few renders (only characters models) and from what i've seen so far the lewd content is not going crazy, but it might changes later.

I've tried Lyla's Curse, but the premise was too weird for me... Also, the whole doll thing was bizarre as well as too horror flicky looking for me, even though it was probably meant as comic relief… The style of 2D artistry was definitely unique, but also may not be everyone's piece of cake...

Selena is a RPGM game, which may be one of the reasons it doesn't get as much attention as many others in this industry... I'm sure there are lots of RPGM VN/Games that suffer for the same reason...

As to lost VN/Games, some should stay lost... While some are lost mostly due to issues with development and/or lack of adequate marketing by the developers themselves... If the product isn't all that good, or takes entirely too long to update, or the developer just isn't interested in marketing that much, etc. then the product may not get that much of a following... Sometimes it has nothing to do with the developer, as luck just isn't on the products side... Sometimes, when a project wasn't hugely popular in the first place and actually finishes or the developers move on to bigger and better things, a product will just slip away into the ether... Where even resurrection by a few fans, doesn't rekindle the fire (if it had any to begin with)… Some new projects just don't catch much attention, for varying reasons...

It's an amateur developers market, that is prone to varying market responses... Alas, some ok VN/Games fall through the cracks, or just were never all that great to begin with, or just didn't resonate as well with the general public... It happens in most entertainment industries, sadly enough...

Camille: the Contdown is just a very very sad project. never got finished or updated with more stuff. the pic for example isnt't even in the game as far as i know! the model of the mc is really sexy and well formed - sadly not that common in most games. but the scenes and progess of the story is confusing, the graphics are mediore and - again - NO UPDATES. just release version which just gives blueballs

How is it a "very sad project" exactly ? When I recommended this VN and gave it a positive review it was still in devellopement, it has been canceled afterward. I was giving an opinion on the curent material I had at the time, wich I can say was pretty high quality and far from "mediocre" from a visual standpoint. If that's mediocre to you, then idk what is litteraly 95% of the VN in this genre, because I know most of them are way, way worst in every aspect.

Also the dude behind this project litteraly never asked for money neither openned a patreon page, so how can I even be mad about this project being canceled ? Giving a negative feedback litteraly focused on the fact that it has been canceled rather than the quality of the content doesn't make any sense IMO.
