Very true. With MV you can only use a save editor.

i don't even use tool extractor
but when the file is .exe? okay that need save editor
cause extracting .exe is tedious so it suck

I can't play VX Ace games, at all. They just don't work. I've tried for weeks, even a virtual machine with a fresh install. Nothing works. It's infuriating.

I hate RPGM games, but I hate not even being able to try them. I'd play Opala games 100% (if I could)

do you even download and install RTP for the version of the game?

if it me i just download and install RTP ( Run Time Package ) install then just gotta gem the game and play

This thread made me anxious about my plans of creating an adult 18+ game in RPG Maker MV.

There seem to be a ton of people who just skip a game when they see the RPGM Tag and move on. As a potential dev, that's a really frustrating thing. Now I know that the argument could be made that there are people who are not into strategy games and just prefer shooter or action.
And that's fine, since the gameplay is inherently different in those cases. Sure, the difference between Ren'py and RPGM is there as well, but I don't think that's the common issue. From what I've gathered so far, most people hate RPGM because they played some bad games or had some bad experiences in general with games from that engine - not the engine itself.

That's really scary to me.

that's why the game keep being born every month every year everytime

me? i only skip the game if it has *real life-like skin people* or *alien mixed furry* or *gore zombie*

those people who had bad experience and bad game is just impatient to look for more or another type of rpgm
or just plainly lazy to do quest and look for event in rpgm but want fast fuck scene
i personally prefer roaming around instead of clicking choice and text skip until i get scene i like
so rpgm is fit for me

and i say that mostly mentioned game of problem is old game
just because the game ask to do a lot of stuff doesn't mean its fault in engine but the dev who make it that way
but some people like it instead of just open the game to see choice then proceed to sex scene

forgot to save and make mistake in choice? please everyone does that
the fault is not engine but yourself whom forgot to save

item is generic? equipment too?
you just haven't see people who even rename their potion into cum and use dildo as weapon name and even making the weapon image for it for sideview battle

I'm a veteran pc player and a software developer. I know my stuff. Though I'm also too lazy to do certain stuff (like post questions on RPG maker dedicated forums or try and find some sort of support somewhere).

That being said, some have started working without me doing anything other than updating windows. Which makes me think it was some windows 10 oddity.

A few still don't work, but most do. This is also kinda recent. I'd say 3 months of them not working, vs less than a month of them working. Again, with no real input on my end.

Let uncle VT give some assist and teach you how to not be bullied by nasty rpgmaker games.

Step1: Go to your forum preferences.
Step2: Scroll down til you find prefixes.


Therein you can set your settings to forever hide nasty rpgmaker games and everything else that's nasty and then you will have a wonderful forum with nothing nasty in it, your personal little paradise. How cool is that, right?

I have played at least a handful of decent RPGM games. I have never found even an 'alright' tier Ren'py game.
