Does anyone know games exactly like A Town Uncovered?
Nothing *quite* like ATU, but many have similar aspects.

Summertime Saga is close enough that ATU is often considered a copycat production. Comparing the two, it seems like a mainstream-version of ATU. The world is filled with big-boobed, lusty women who inexplicably want the MC’s dick and don’t look at another man regardless of how sex-positive they are. The father is conveniently dead, the aunt lives alone, the hot woman you deliver pizza to is a single mother, as is your neighbour. There are exceptions, but overall, the husbands you encounter are in sexless/unfullfilling marrriages. (Tony is impotent, the police wife is strongly anti-sex, the sexualized maid somehow managed to always escape the mayor’s attentions, the fish monster never found a mate…) Similarly, the story completely depends on the MC. He actively does everything and he is the single point of failure. He saves the various projects his teachers work on. He frees the maid from the mayor. He investigates the murder and corruption. He brings his aunt success etc etc. There are exceptions, but they are rare. Basically, the world and characters revolve around the MC.

This is in stark contrast to ATU. At least the first few segments of every storyline, including the majority of the main story, is a sort-of walking simulator. You witness the world that acts around the MC, and the other characters are much more dynamic and active than the MC. Half of the mother route the MC having to deal with the demands of a moody mother and aggressive father. The sister and Allaway route are more active, but even there the other characters do things and the relationship often progress through the simple act of witnessing what they are doing. The MomxSis route and the main story are the most extreme examples of this, though at least the main story seems to intend for the MC to act in an active role in the future. As it is, the world feels much more dynamic, I find, but the MC feels bland like soggy white bread.

Insexual(/Incestual) Awakening focused even more on the passivity/others acting on the MC, from what I recall. It also didn’t have any overarching threat or plot beyond various family members suddenly realising they really want to "explore their sexuality" with the MC. He does what others tell him to do, then pops a boner, then they do something sexual.

Town of Passion also features the MC walking around the town and starting relationships with characters while an overarching threat needs to be fought, but I the manner it does so is quite different. The MC is literally the Chosen One™ as well as only male resident. He has to solve the quests and train because that is what a Chosen One™ does and because a lewd goddess tells him to. Also an RPGM game with various "find the object" or "complete the puzzle" type quests.

I’m unfamiliar with Urban Demons, but it seems to be a corruption type game, which is quite different to any of the above.

Regarding other games that might be considered vaguely, sort-of similar:

Fantasy Valley is another Point&Click game in which you play as a young student, who is new to the city, has to investigate/solve an overarching threat and meets plenty of new characters. The world feels less sex filled compared to ATU/SS/IA, but there is still a lot. The game features a pleasant mixture of actively doing stuff and witnessing how others do stuff. The story is very different and extremely linear, but it playing through it I liked in a similar way as I liked ATU.

Solvalley School is another dating sim sandbox game. There is no big plot or goal, it’s just the MC messing around with various girls. I’m mentioning it mostly because it might scratch the itch of those who desperately want more sexworld content. The situations and characters are absurd. The MC has no morals beyond "fucking girls = good" and the women all crave a big strong man with an enormous penis (openly or secretly).

Life in Woodchester seems to be intended to be a game styled after Summertime Saga and the parts I played felt similar enough, but the custom game engine didn’t run well on my machine. Might be worth checking out.

Are the sprites not loading up during dialogue for anyone else or did I mess up the installation somehow

Edit: Looks like it's just the new scenes that don't have sprites, so I'm guessing those just haven't been put in yet.

You can override dialogue functions (similar to how I provided a much simpler way of unlocking everything in A House on the Rift) and use an array to sar what you need. (Search-And-Replace)

Thank you, I did forget. I'm not a spoon-feeder as well. I debug, remove DRM, help others (usually only associates and friends I care to bother about but because I'm *sooo nice* I post publicly to help others). I keep forgetting why I'm mostly retired.
Hello, BupoTiling03-Retired!
You can me sending private message, I don't know how here sending private message
I have personal question you

Checked the dev log again. Seems like the new update will come out within the next few days. Geeseki just completed a handful of tasks and then moved everything on the to-do list down to the next version.

From a brief look at the tasks, it is possible that v0.33 will contain absolutely zero new scenes. There is a completed task saying new Lashley chapters have been written. Depending on whether "write" includes coding it into the actual game, that might be new content..

Instead the update is mostly about replacing some of the placeholder art. According to however Geeseki measures it, 8 out of 11 missing units of main story art are done now. Some locations, the uptown map and a bit of assorted other stuff as well. The incomplete punishment scene from the MomxSis storyline also got some minor work done.

The new shops also got some work done. One of the tasks is about Hitomi’s shop, I think, then there’s a Gacha machine for some reason…

The only thing remaining are the bug reports. For some reason, the listed ones don’t include any of the bugs people repeatedly complain about here.

Any new content with Allaway?
The newest content with her is a threesome with her and Effie. Given that her route is complete, I don’t think we will get much more either.
Edit: Looks like it's just the new scenes that don't have sprites, so I'm guessing those just haven't been put in yet.
For certain definitions of "new". I think some scenes with incomplete art have been that way for a year now.

They don’t push those back by the simple measure of not writing a task for that in the first place. The Hitomi beach scene keeps diligently being pushed back every single time, though. Geeseki actually briefly put in the "Currently Working On" column, made a checklist for it, kept it there a day, then apparently decided against doing it and pushed it back anyway.

I don’t think it ever will. I’ve been keeping the occasional eye on the dev log. At this point I’m fairly sure the next update won’t even be worth the effort of downloading it. A total of 7 days Geeseki has worked on it by my count and the progress fits what you would expect from someone working on it for a single (if intense) week. (The hired coder has also done 15 subtasks in that time. Not sure what exactly that entails since I’m not entirely sure what "Sprite Investigation Coding" means here.)
I've been following this thread for a while now, and I have to say, RoughlySpecific, you have shown a lot of dedication to this game and I hope you get some recognition for that.

My dedication only appears exceptional because this is a nearly-dead thread. Compared to other threads and other forums, the amount of effort I put this thread is minimal. The only high-effort post is the FAQ and that is only because I’ve slowly added a bit more every month or so.

Seriously, the dev log is extremely easy to navigate and check. I keep the activity log open in a tab and check that tab every few days, which takes between 2-10 seconds. Writing this short post was about as much effort as checking the dev log for a month.

0.33 has been out for a bit but judging by the trello not too exciting. though the next one might be interesting if all the cgs on the trello are put in.

The update has been out two weeks now, so I thought I’d write another progress update for the last two weeks. This concludes my progress update.

Joking aside, it seems like the first two weeks after an update are not spent on developing the game. Given that there are only ~9 weeks between updates…Anyway, Geeseki started organizing the next tasks ~2 hours ago. Seems like the next update will be about Lashley, featuring Sprites and CG for these vaguely-named scenes:

Sprites:
* Drinking Advice (Nightclub)
* Wine Heist (Kitchen Night)
* Lashley Busy (Principal Office Day) (But it's set in the Hallway2)
* Jealousy (School Hallway 1)

CG:
* Bottoms Up (VARIED
* The Lashley Aftermath
* Hints of a Problem
* Distractions (VARIED)

Given that these tasks were given to the coder and not to Geeseki, I assume that the art (or temp art…) is already done and this will actually definitely be included in the next update and not just left half-finished. The bulk of the other tasks are just leftovers from the previous version, i.e. more fixing of old art.
Saw this cutie in the new version and wished she had some content, so I made some. Enjoy.
Nice. I like how close it looks to the original art style.

Which reminds me: I take back my statement about not being dedicated to the game. I’ve been checking out Geeseki’s twitter (abandoned as of 2017) to see how it all started. I’m pretty sure that makes me a dedicated fanboy (>.<). While there, I noticed a game picture I’ve never seen before.

In this gif there is a missing poster for someone who looks like Principal Lashley or her sister:

Does anyone know if this is/was ever in the game?

That’s the one. Given that Eloise’s company runs both towns and that the sexworld verson is implied to do the "sexual training" of kidnapping victimsl, it would make sense if she was one of the first people who was kidnapped/turned/replaced.

This is assuming that the story ever gets actually lore that makes sense, of course.

She was kidnapped, but it's okay, we found her. (Work in progress)
