VN - Ren'Py - The Missing Part [Ch.3] [jPk vns]

First of, congratulations to the Dev jPk vns for making this great AVN!

Now to the Game:
You should be in a stable Mental state to start this AVN as the Prologue already gives you the biggest punch to the Gut I have ever seen in an AVN so far.
The Story is very well written and pulls you in right from the Start... it's an emotional Novel and as such very well made.
The Renders are top and can hold up to the best AVNs out there, the animations are well done too. Nothing looks out of the Place.
The (few) Characters we met so far are well done and do all have there own characteristics and feel like People you could meet IRL.

The Second Chapter was also great, not as much a Roller-Coaster as the first/prologue but still got it's "surprising" Moments and some new Characters - especially the Ending is again a huge "Surprise"!

The Dev surely knows how to write some great Cliffhanger!

Over all this is definitely an AVN worth the Time to play and in my Top 10 List now. It deserves to be seen and played by much more People! 5 Stars from me.

A magnificent game. It moves you deeply and makes you feel emotions. The characters are endearing, and the story is beautifully told. I discovered it by chance, and I can assure you it's one of my favorites. I don't understand why it gets so little support. Congratulations to the developer because it's clear he's done it with extraordinary care and is surely putting a part of his heart into it.

One thing that already draws attention in this game right from the beginning is the courage the creator has to kill two important characters for the protagonist, this is not something you see often and when the story really starts it is very good it is not at all like a depressing story quite the opposite the writing does not waste time with drama instead it tries to develop both the protagonist and the other characters, the love interests are very good and beautiful each one with their stories and personality and as there are not many there is time to develop them well, anyway this is a great game with a lot of potential.

Review thru Chapter 2

Masterpiece level storytelling. I cried during the Prologue. I cried during the first episode. It pulls you in and makes you care deeply about the characters. If you like characters that matter, this is a Top 3 VN of all time. If you are only in it for the lewd scenes, there is only one so far. That one, however, is very well executed.

If you are still reading, then this is the right VN for you. It takes a long time to go through because it uses cut scenes extensively. Those cut scenes are worth it. They are not used as an excuse for pretty visuals. The cut scenes are used to tell the story directly through facial expressions and actions that matter.

This VN matters. We need to support. it.

Woof, the prologue was truly a punch in the gut. This AVN is a little gem. What shines the most is definitely the writing, but the renders and animations are also well done. Pleasantly surprised by the SFX during the scene with

Kudos to jPk. I’ll be recommending it.

P.S. In my humble opinion, I think it’s time to lock the three paths in the next chapter and make them mutually exclusive. Narratively speaking, it wouldn’t make much sense—nor would it really fit the MC’s character—to continue three romantic relationships at the same time.

My first initial thoughts after having finished Chapter 2:
Holy fuck.

Now let me catch you up from the beggining. One of the greatest visual novels i have ever played on this site and this is only 2 chapters in. The Prologue alone is worth becoming its own game. I actually really implore the dev to explore making a prequel to this once completing it.

The Missing Part. The title is actually perfect for this VN. Once completing the Prequel i felt emotionally drained. Add on top during the initial stages of Chapter 1 you really feel like you are missing a part of the MC after the *spoilers* death of ella and their daughter. I dare to say i felt a part of myself missing too.
I wont lie it took me a bit to get over the initial loss of both Ella and their daughter, but especially Ella. She felt like the perfect LI and I was really looking forward to explore that path with her and the MC.
It really made it hard to connect at first with any of the three main LI's. Eventually after getting over the sadness of it all, i started enjoying myself way more.

First of all i would like to applaud the dev on how amazing all 3 of the LI models look...very original from the looks of it, haven't really seen any of them in other VN's (I have played most of the good ones on here) Sarah, Lisa and Hailey are wonderful women, each having their own personalities and different aspects to enjoy.
I will add that i like how this game handles sex scenes. It's alot more of a slow burn story wise, so of course this also translates into the sex. If you were looking for a game with constant sex scenes this unfortunately isnt the one for you. We have had one sex scene so far and it is used to further the story with Sarah, and not just to make this into a porno. Also it was really crisp and looked fantastic. The renders felt really real. 10/10 visuals.
Personally Lisa is my favorite, mostly due to the connection she seems to have to Ella in some way. Close seconds though are both Sarah and Hailey. The two other possible LI's seem to be Emily and Linda whom to me don't really appeal to me enough to warrant their own separate paths but good additions to those who love a good variety.

Chapter 2 is where this goes from a great VN, that just doesn't reach the ceiling post Prolugue, back up to me after an emotional Prologue ending. While yes, i still miss Ella at points and yes i still wish to explore her in maybe a future prequel spinoff...I finally am able to grasp to the fact that everything that happened, needed to occur to get us this invested in the MC and what his future holds. I have never felt this attached before to a virtual novel and its characters, it honestly feels like watching one of my favorite series on Netflix. Plus talk about that ending!

Summing things up back to my initial reaction of the end of Chapter 2 *spoilers* I did not see that coming at all. I really hope this is some sort of long lost twin story, because as much as this "Madelyn" character isnt our Ella...This would be the next best thing. Of course i expect this to be slow burn...but i would love it if she is a planned new LI in the future. I am sold already on her. (Even if it is weird that she would be the twin sister of your dead wife and having the name of your dead daughter)

PS: This should be among the top 10 games out there. I would gladly put it among the likes of Being a DIK, Leap of Faith, Artemis, Become a Rockstar, City of Broken Dreamers, Race of Life, Move the Chains, Summer's Gone, Chasing Sunsets and Acting Lessons to name a few of the great ones out there.
Obviously there are other great VN's and some may prefer others but this definetly deserves to be among the highest rated.

I really hope this doesn't end up just being a hidden gem that gets lost in the shuffle.

This game may not have a ton of lewd scene but holy shit does it grip at your emotions.

The writing is one of the best I have seen so far, the 2 of the 3 LI's are extremely attractive - Sarah is just alright. Emma is hilarious and much needed comic relief.

There really is nothing I can say about this AVN that is terrible except that I don't have more of it to go through right now

Well, this one got me real good. Sure did not expect to get this emotional. A great written Adults VN with great art and 3 unique LIs. I just could not stop playing and I would recommend anyone who want to enjoy truly mature VN to try it. the Sex scene(s) is a bonus but would play it even if it had none. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Man oh man! What a roller coaster! Give the MC a break. Never cried while playing any game. But the writing of this is really touching.

Not everyday i see a story about a loving father's mental health. This is one of, if not the most realistic depiction of it.

From how he faces the loss, how he dealt with it and how he's doing his best to carry on with his life while still remembering the good times he had with the loved ones he's lost.

So the MC is one of those preppy rich kids, he walks out of the house without looking back, and a girl on a skateboard bumps into him. She's pissed, the skateboard is obviously very valuable to her, and she makes the MC take her to the store and buy her a couple of broken skateboard wheels. The MC is also pissed at first, he had plans and all that, but the little sassy declares that he is now at her service until midnight!

Anyway, he spends the day with her, and he likes her more and more as he gets to know her, despite her old shabby clothes - the girl is poor, despite the fact that she lives in a poor area - the girl is an orphan and lives in an orphanage. But she is very sweet, pretty, easygoing, he feels comfortable with her, and the MC does not want to end their sudden date. They are already familiar and trust each other enough to share the problems and worries that are on their minds. And the MC realizes with shame how small and insignificant his problems seem compared to what the poor orphan girl has to deal with.

But midnight comes, and she, hiding a tear with a smile, thanks him for a wonderful day, says that his service is over and he is free - and unable to hide her tears, runs away. It goes without saying that the MC runs after her...

And here you have to play.

Because the game has excellent graphics and very interesting characters. The dev does a great job of highlighting the smallest nuances of the characters' moods and emotions with facial expressions, head tilts, slight smirks, glint in the eyes - visual details that you don't immediately notice, but that make the characters come alive. I really love this in visual novels, but rarely do devs do it at a high level.

The plot... I will only say that many scenes in the game evoke very strong emotions, both positive and negative, the author skillfully builds up tension and directs the player's mood; I will not hide that it was difficult for me to hold back a stingy male tear in several very emotional heavy scenes. But it still looks like this will not be one of those stories where the MC gets stuck in the swamp of his depression and past traumas, which I am incredibly happy about.

The dialogues are written in a very lively, cheerful language, easy comprehensible, and the player moves along the plot on ease. It's hard to say yet in which direction the plot will go, there are three main LIs, each of whom is different from the others, with a unique character, all of them are appealing in their own way, each has their own insecurities and flaws, and it's incredibly interesting to get to know them. So it's a very well made dating sim so far.

There are no lewds in the main game yet, but there are two extra scenes that are loosely connected to the main story, but give an idea of what to expect from the author in terms of erotic animations. Me likes.

To sum it up, a well-written story about people, relationships, loss, joy and sorrow, with great graphics, unobtrusive background music and attractive characters.

I would like to note that the dev makes impressive progress in development every week, not shying away from showing many preview images from the chapter in development, so I'm looking forward to the next chapter soon.

One of the most emotionally impactful VN's I've ever experienced and it's only the first chapter. There are a couple of things that could be better, some grammatical errors at times but despite that it's an easy 5 stars. Would recommend to everyone unless you're severely depressed then maybe play something else

The writing in the game is excellent in terms of pacing out a pretty heavy introduction for the MC's story. It's pretty impressive how the prologue gets you attached to the MC's family that fast in such a short time. The 3 possible LI's don't have much right now to them to be honest, but the obvious hints of more to them are definitely intriguing as is.

However, I will say that for the first chapter, choices in the game enter into a common trap some games enter into when it comes to a really defined narrative like this one. Most choices right now basically boil down to whether you want to do a certain route or not, with no real effect on the plot outside of that.

I know the developer is planning broader choices in the following update, and hopefully, that helps a bit in choices mattering. If not that's totally fine, as I do think this is probably one of the best newcomer VN's this year.

Overall, though there's not much sexual content right now outside of the bonus scenes, I would recommend checking this one out if you like more somber story-related VN's.

I really enjoyed this, definitely one of the best new games out there. I like that the game's focused on the story and is not afraid of some more serious topics that most visual novels don't try to delve into. This is one of those titles that I would play even if there was no sexual content at all.

The renders are nice, so are the love interests and I like the fact that there's only three of them. I feel like many games try to go overboard with the number of romanceable characters instead of going for quality.

Overall, I most definitely recommend this and wish all the best to the dev with future updates because it's looking very promising.

Almost a kinetic novel. Choices are rare and when they do appear it's flavour only, we can ask some questions (or not) or we can choose to skip a scene (which defeats the purpose of playing the "game") or we can decide what to see first. Which makes this "game" no fun at all for me because we're not playing it, we're just observers.

And while renders are good they're nothing special but what's worse there is no sexual content here besides bonus scenes (which are poorly done IMO). I don't get why dev wasted time on adding them when they have nothing to do with the story.

All in all it's a very poor first release and had it been later chapter I would have rated it lower. I might change my rating if things will change but as it stands I can't recommend this game, on the contrary, I urge you to not play it if you value your time (wait at least until ch. 2 because as it stands now it's garbage).

Edit:
After playing 3 chapters I'm rating it one star higher because the game did improve. It's still more of a kinetic novel IMO but at least we got some sex scenes. Still, the rating for this game (4.9 currently) is way too high.

Let's get to the part that many people here won't like:

This is not a porn game per se. Yeah, there will be sex scenes later (chapter 2 the dev wrote), but that is absolutely not the focus.

Chapter 1 is about the start of the healing process.

Storywise this is top notch and I would totally by the final version on Steam (which I sadly cannot as a German, so please bring it to GOG too, dev).

The prologue is about the MC meeting his wife and their daughter being born. From there it goes emotionelly downward, really hit me hard. The MC is a pretty funny guy, which makes it even harder to bear to see him sad.

The three main girls look good and are not models used everywhere else as far as I can tell. Their personalities are very different and they are all pretty. As this is no Harem game (and generell more on the realistic side) it will be hard to choose later on.

The conversations are as well written as the story itself and for both counts: slow pace, but never boring. I like the little verbal, funny jabs the MC does - I am pretty much the same in RL so I feel right at home there.

Music is very fitting to the scenes.

I cannot rate this any other than 5/5 stars, because this is just the kind of AVN I want to play.

Cudos to the dev, and really - as written before - bring it to GOG once it is finished.

The quality of the story is top notch and the dialogues very good moreover the backstory and the story telling is really well done.
MC seems quite good and the LIs are beautiful and with unique personalities, after i played their paths i liked them all
Unfortunately it isnt harem so we have to choose one in end so probably im gonna have play 3 different runs near the end.
Moreover Visuals are great and soundtrack quite good too.
it became already one of my favorites and i cant wait for the next chapter, i truly enjoyed it a lot and i highly recommend it.

The missing part [ prologue]

This one's heavily story centric. Godammn but the story is emotional one, if you are going through hard part of your avoid this one. This prologue doesn't had any choice at all. But you will play it to the end cause story is captive. If you are going through hard part of your life you will avoid. You don't see these type of story usually here. Only few game offer this type of emotional story. I felt like I've watched an emotional movie. Enough to make grown man cry type. There is also a bonus scene in replays

+ Writing

Review version : Prologue
I don't really like to review games even give 5 stars on games without much content . But this game really hits you in the feels more than once in the Prologue that I felt it was worth it for now. I hope other updates don't disappoint.

One thing I do like is how this dev is adding in lewd content as a bonus to get feedback and practice before we get said lewd content in the actual main game.
