VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Avalon [v8.2] [Lockheart]

I was a bit split on this one, story isent bad but its still very drawn out before any kind of sex scenes, if you arent going for other girls theres no sex untill the game is almost finished, so it barely even feels like an AVN, even with multiple partners it takes a long time, and alot of the girls you meet you never get to be with even though it feels like you should be able to.

Its also 95% kinetic story line, you dont really have an option other then only being with one girl or be with more and picking more you cant say no to anyone so its still kinetic no matter the choice you make.

Also you never have sex with the sister Leah or Penny or the girl from the shrink/doc place even though shes more then willing..
It makes it feel like some of the story are left out of skipped since theres no point in having the sister come back and not have anything with her.

Its somewhat long and drawn out and few sex scenes, and Avolon is to forgiving and apprently cant get pissed on anyone other then MC which is stupid, compared to all the stuff her mom did she just tells her she loves her, which makes 0 sense, she should have blown up like she did multiple times at MC.

They could pretty much all be sisters since the faces looks the same just with diffrent eye color or hair and so on, nothing really unique other then maybe MCs sister.

There arent that many and those that are there are pretty short and boring for the most part, i only really enjoyed the one when MC finaly gets to be with Avalon and there is only 2 sex scenes in total with her at the very end which is a bit disapointing for a long game to have so little rewards.

On a sidenote, if the game was made as the "after story" i feel like it would been a million times better.

I've tried very hard to get to the ending of this game, but i had such an hard time to play for more the 5 minutes straight. In the end i just deleted it.

It's one of the most disjointed, inconclusve, pointless, odd, random stories i have ever seen.

Seriously, what this game about? About a niece that has the hots for an uncle, but then her friend has the hots for him too, but the MC father is a criminal, but he offs himself after an insane vigilante that claims to be a private investigator pulls a stunt, but then MC has a sister who has the hots for him too, but everyone has the hots for everyone, but the MC is traumatized so he goes to the same shrink of the niece who had been raped years before, but her moher is an alchoolist....

No, really, is there even a plot or it's just whaterver came to the Dev's mind on a daily basis?

The dialog are plain dumb and nonsensical. No one in his sane mind speaks like that.

The LIs are cute but totally devoided of any character, they are just there to be part of the home decor.

MC is a buff spineless good for nothing dude with clothing glued to his skin that says dumb things and acts in a completely erratical way.

It was absolutely boring and while playing i didn't want to have anything to do with any of the ladies in the game, just read the bare minimum of the dialogs to push the story on. Like if there was a story to talk about...

Really bad. + 1 star for being completed.

I played Among petal Thorns, I had a great time.
I started playing Bliss recently, I didn't get far because it doesn't draw me in that much, but I keep it on disk and fire it up from time to time.
So I decided to give Avalon a chance and abandoned the game, the reason?

I didn't expect the author of APT to be able to spit out such a crappy story, on top of that Penny, I understand she was supposed to be a humorous character, but she mostly annoyed me.

I won't give the worst rating, just because up to the point of the attempted murder, despite the skip story of Penny and her lesbian woos with Dallas, which interested me nothing, the story was quite interesting.
I haven't been so annoyed in a long time, maybe because I had high expectations from the author.

ps. I've played a lot of these types of games, but such a cunt as MC here is not even in school settings games I've met. I think the MC, he should be a woman in this game, he literally acts like one.

I loved this VN and it is the first and so far the only time I was happy to play one with different paths. It was delightful that the characters were so relatable and believable. I believe that was mostly due to a good strong and solid story.

I have played about a dozen vn's and i keep finding myself drawn to the emotional ones i will admit when i first started playing them it was for the lewd stuff but i am falling in love with the more meaningful and emotional ones.
If you are like me and are now looking for a vn that is not just about sex and more about a story then i think you would enjoy this one.

The story is great the incest aspect it a little off as other reviews stated kissing in public ect would be a little much in such a short timeline i understand they aren't technically blood related but still seemed a little fast paced but overall great story.

There will be mistakes, not a native english speaker.

In short - you should play this game, it deserves that at least.Maybe even MUST play.

Story - could be better, sometimes its funny and touching, but most of the times its confusing(!).
Graphics - characters and surroundings are great, but sex scenes seems very short as an animation and as event(Feels like dev wants to move as fast as he cand from sex to story), also they are clunky and not very rewarding.And in the game based on somewhat of a slowburn - this is bad.

As you can see by the other reviews, a lot of people rated this at 5 stars, and others two. So, it's a game that you will love or it just won't hit you at all. It has a lot of heart in it and it's good natured. I like wholesome games. I don't think the MC is taking advantage of the LI. She experienced a severely traumatic event and I see him as helping to to love and enjoy sex again.

But I give it 3 stars in my entirely subjective opinion. For me, it's an endearing story, but it's not very sexy. The girls are sexy, but I can't take the constant dad jokes. It kills the mood for me. Also, I prefer POV games and for me there s just too much of MC's body. He plays too big of a role in the story for me to enjoy it. Honestly, I only made it to the beginning of Act 4.

Beautiful Story, Beautiful Images. A joy to read! The options to explore multiple side girls is even better! I would recommend that anyone who is interested at least gives it a shot. I look forward to whatever they make next!

A solid game. It's nice to see female models that are not built like Lady Death and the game handles sensitive issues fairly well. Definitely a slow burn - that's a positive thing in my book, but I know some hate it. I just wish the male model wasn't so unrealistically massive because it kind of undoes the good will that the dev generated by making the women realistic proportions.

I am enjoying this so thouroughly. The dad jokes, one liners, and witty quips are great. The models and rendering are so hot. MC not having 24" horse cock is refreshing. love it! thank you OP. Flew through the game, was disapointed it ended, now im in the 'what if...?' section. I am taking my time now. Digesting it slowly, and savoring it like a bowl of import grapes. They are so old, it looks like caviar, but it fermented into a beautiful butterfly, with wings that taste of color, and smell of pulp, but in a good way.

A decent VN: great graphics and girls, nearly adequate story, lots of funny lines and appropriate music and themes, but without much adult content.

I really enjoyed the comedy and the MC, who’s almost not too creepy, for a semi-incestuous pedobear. I also fell in love with the Dallas musical theme and had to download it (Disturbed Mind, by Uygar Duzgun, if you’re interested).

Problem is, the writing is inconsistent: when it’s the holy triad (MC, Avalon and Dallas), dialogues work pretty well, it’s funny and cozy and sometimes even a bit moving; when it’s Penny and the bad guys, Dr. Yu or the MC’s dad arc, it’s boring and it goes a bit off the rail… The story tries to be deep, like “everyone have been traumatized” or “everyone deserves a second chance” (Avalon’s mom arc) but if you’ve read a book in your life, you won’t be too impressed.

Last but not least, the sex scenes are too few and too short. I can endure pop psychology if you reward me with a decent rush of adrenaline, but this VN teases a lot and don’t deliver much.

This is well written. The characters feel believable, which makes you care about them. When evil happens(ed) it hurts, makes you angry, which is real. Emotional connection to characters/actors makes the art better. I can't play through this one over and over but I am glad to of experienced it.

On a whim, I joined the discord to compliment the work. This lead to me discovering a talented, yet humble artist who's members make the day better.

Try this one, try another of LockHeart's creations, and then enjoy worthwhile community- centered around pixels hugging each other and whatnot...

This is one of the best games I've ever played.
The story is very touching and emotional; the writing is excellent.
The visuals are also very good; Avalon herself is hot.
I like that you can effectively play two games by going back and choosing another path. This just adds more value and playability to the game.
I'd love to see a continuation of the characters in the game.

The game started off well, I thought both Byron and Avalon were interesting characters, while the story touches on a subject that many find uncomfortable in games it was an interesting enough premise to keep me invested.

But then Penny, sigh, just took over half the game with stupidity.

Renders are decent, female characters are just weird looking with overlarge eyes, facial expressions are off as well. I think this game could have been a lot more, but unfortunately it never delivers.

Not exactly sure how to put this, but the game commits the cardinal sin of sex games, by making it NOT FUN AT ALL, who in their right mind would hear a story about a young girl being raped, and be like, I want to have sex with her now... It makes any scenes with Avalon extremely uncomfortable, and Byron basically takes advantage of her insecurities.

Rape as a fetish between consenting adults, or in revenge stories is fun, rape of young girls who are then traumatized, makes me instantly lose my erection, especially if you're supposed to be her guardian.

Finally you cannot refuse her at all, which means you are forced by the game into a relationship with her, I wish the game allowed me to just help her out, or at least ignore the rape talk, literally every scene with her and i mean EVERY scene goes back to trauma and rape, talk about a boner killer, anyone who was able to jerk off to the actual interactions before the "alternative ending" are freakin wierdos... Mandatory explanation that I'm not opposed to incest, and that is not what turned me off.

One of the things that pisses me off the most about this story, is that You DO NOT GET TO KILL the son of a bitch who hurt Avalon and that Faith, the daughter of the serial rapist, basically let him go out and rape people once a month for years, and afterwards covered it up, and the game treats here with sympathy, she should have been arrested and sent to jail for at least half the time as her dad... The author is clearly delusional and has no idea how the justice system works, she would have been jailed for most of her life for aiding a serial rapist. Faith is literally THE REASON the whole game happens, if she just reported her father TO ANYONE it wouldn't have happened. there is a reason hiding and helping criminals is ILLEGAL...

At the end of the story, there is "what-if" story about if Avalon was never raped, and the MC ends up with Leah... That was so much better than the actual story, why not just do that, it had better sex scenes, more kinks/fetishes, and treated the characters like normal people instead of broken emotional dolls who are used to serve the storyline of the "Penny for your thoughts" game.
"Penny for your thoughts" is the reason The MC can't get with Leah, and why penny was even in the game to begin with. Leah has to leave to do shit with Penny, if that game didn't exist, Leah would have stayed with the MC. Its a classic case of writing for sequels instead of writing something that should happen.

This is one of the most touching stories I've ever played! It's also funny, I found myself genuinely laughing multiple times. And it seems to be set in a glorious and blessed world where all attractive women constantly display their midriffs, take me there!

Completely unexpected find, probably wouldn't have given the game a second look if it hadn't been recommended in Harem Highlander. Good writing throughout, good renders, nothing looked too fake or out of place. The characters were a lot more fleshed out than I expected too, just overall a great experience, and the humor had great timing.

TLDR; This game is good. It's not amazing or incredible. But it is good and it's worth your time. I would give the game a 3.5/5, but I'm happy to bump it up to a 4/5 just by virtue of being a completed game.

First, I want to talk about the renders and H-scenes. There is a decent amount of adult content in this game, but I found it to be lacking for the most part. The renders are hot but the posing is usually stiff and the animation is pretty meh. Overall, the adult scenes are good and most of them are definitely fap-worthy, but they aren't as good as a lot of the other 4+ star games on this site.

Next is the writing. First off, I want to say that this game deals with some heavy topics and can get a little depressing, but it's not traumatizing or anything.

• Characters: The characters in this game are pretty well-written. I was surprised at how fast I grew to like some of them. They all behave in a semi-realistic way which is better than most of the games on this site, but it wasn't quite there in terms or believability for me. Their relationships progressed a little fast but I'm willing to forgive that. The characters and their banter is probably the highlight of this game and the good bits more than makes up for the bad.
• Story/Plot: Extremely basic plot. Nothing too fancy here. There is some intrigue throughout the game with the Dentist and particularly with the MC's family. The hints early on that something might be up with the MC's family really interested me and made me really excited to see more. But this game commits one of the cardinal sins of storytelling: Resolving the conflict off-screen. All of the mysteries are solved and all the conflicts ended off-screen and then you are just told about them later. This really deflates the intrigue and engagement in the story.

All-in-all, the writing is pretty good, probably above-average. But it fell short on several occasions and I hope to see the writing improve in future games from the dev. The H-scenes were pretty meh despite the beautiful renders and the pretty attractive -- if not absurdly muscular -- Main Character (a model that few devs bother to make attractive), but they did the job alright.

I liked the story as u don't find many where stories based on sexual assault & healing as a result I really enjoyed the beginning chapters very much but as soon as they kissed the story also sank. I was expecting a heartwarming story about a girl saved by uncle from her tragic past but instead of focusing on rehabilitation they chose incest & sex cuz as soon as they shared 1st kiss they totally turned into different people going as far as kissing in public, touching, etc which a usual person would take a lot longer to adjust. The Animation, sound effects, character models r done really well. The story had so much potential too bad they couldn't polish it
