Part of the reason why their scam went wonderfully successful on steam is because many steam users also consider themselves anti-piracy and never want to associate with sites like this. Prospective buyers can only evaluate their purchase decision based on steam reviews from ppl who already bought it, who never know about any of the drama, history, and even the development time it has taken... all they know is that the game is updated monthly so it's fine. it'll be 3-5 years until they'd realize this is a scam and by that time there'll be fresh new blood (or cashcow) to be milked for another 3-5 years.

I don't think it's people trying to take a moral stand against piracy. Even for non-pirates this place has merit as a forum since a lot of devs post here. But you need to be at least somewhat engaged with porn games to know about this place. Most people don't engage with the things they consume, especially with impulse buys. The average person is going to see the pretty screenshots and buy the game without looking into it at all.

Platforms like Steam and Patreon should do a better job dealing with scams but that would hurt their bottom line so they don't.

they say it's gonna be done by 2025 on their roadmap but with how there's been essentially 0 real change for 3+ years it's doubtful and will likely get delayed even further the closer they get to that date.

Looking at the steam stats on vginsites it's had 1.3m in gross revenue just from steam alone, and graphtreon, while giving you stats on the creator goin back to the start of the page up to current and the earnings per day, doesn't have a "total earnings" thing and I'm far too lazy to go month by month and add all that shit but it's been at least 10k a month since nov 2016 and roughly 17-20k a month since dec 2018 up until today.

This SPECIFIC PORN GAME has had a rough gross earning of 2+ million and it's not done yet. that's fucking wild. now I don't know their net, I probably never will, I don't know how much a cut pateron or steam takes. but even if they've only net earned half of it, it's still 1+ mil.

you're pretty much welcome here, the main drive of this porn game was basically the full body HD porn scenes back in 2016-2018 when they keep producing those sex scenes until their business change for some unknown reason and they call it "we want to save our budget expenses" excuse when the devs replied in this f95zone thread and see pages 90+ in this thread for fully details (if you saw the username "JudgeHeath" he is a game developer leader on this game on 90+ page thread)

pretty much how much this project got drained down to the toilet but the game accelerated to suffering more because of bugs and patch fixes for over 4-5 yrs in this project without any new content until they start adding few content which it doesnt change anything.

Buying game good specialy if its indie(who know what they grew up in future). But i dont reccomend bying unfinished games in early access or preorder it. i get some of it and at least its playable...
Unfinished products in 5+ years of development with few content dont deserve money.
Cloud meadow even roll roadmap for 2 years... So dev saying us he complite game at late 2025 lol, i dontbelieve in this shlt. Also dev said in this roadmap some thing can be delayed to furter dates... So 2025 release just another believers shlt.
U know how many games delayed to further dates last years?! Non of them dont release at 1st given date!!! And even with delay for "polishing" they release unoptimised and buggy... If we buy game on disk 10-15 years ago in state like games release now, nobody buy game in future before test it or seeing how others play. Quality control totaly suck now...

This place clearly does not stop anyone from giving the dev money as we can see by years of continued donor support. A rube is born every minute who would pay for this stuff, but that doesn't bother me. What I believe to be concerning is the culture among the dev class for this type of game, where you have the usual devs that just lose steam and move on, but also this rogue element that wants to scam anyone they can. It's a culture that taints what could otherwise be good projects. I'm not going to get up on my high horse from a pirate site though, but a pattern has emerged.

Crowd-Funding Projects are always "Buyer Beware", F95 serves as a good place to show what the game really is.
and we got a living example in Murder_Birder who did research, avoid being scammed.
If people are too lazy to do their own due diligence, then they shouldn't involve in this kind of stuff.
Or maybe they don't even care to be scammed, then why should you? There're just too much money out there waiting to be scammed.

The ramification is, since there are so many Scam projects, "legit projects" will hv more difficulty to gain support / exposure they deserve.
But that's nothing new, since those platforms don't push regulations to moderate the problem - and let's be honest, they won't, it costs money and Steam/Patroen gain nothing from it, other than "good faith" that they don't need.
Legit devs should treat it as a "challenge" that needs to be overcome.

People are tired of seeing this thread pop up with another nothingburger update and burying legitimate projects only to have the problem exacerbated by a bunch of people piling in to bump the thread with hottakes about a game that has been spinning it’s wheels for 7 years. F95 doesn’t really have a good way of handling a situation like this, but at some point enough should be enough.

F95 just updates a thread when there's a "New Update" being provided, I don't see what's the difference here?
Not to mention you can clearly see from these new posts, people still confused, thinking "Cloud Meadow" is a "Legit porn game project, just dev being slow".

I understand, and that's why I said there are rubes born everyday. It's useless to worry about because it's out of your control. Most of my post was about how the devs for games that stemmed from Breeding Season have habitual scammers within the genre, so take note and beware.

Just saw that you mention Kemono. Is the content on Kemono uploaded by the Devs themselves or is Kemono just some kind of piracy Archive?
Because content that would normally cost money are free there...
