I like this game, but if we've got these powers then let us use them, or at least have MC trying to build them and find out what he's capable of, rather than using them when convenient.

Damn, the doors locked? Well I have this as yet unknown power that lets me glide through solid walls/doors.
Cop might see my leg? I'll just go invisible and leave that whole arc there.

Interested to see where this goes, as it feels like it's just all about that cave at the moment, which I have no doubt that MC will end up killing
Different playthroughs don't change anything at all. You go down with Calisto and Cindy either way.

The only variants are:

- curled blondie aka childhood friend is dead / is alive - it doesn't change anything since she doesn't go down into the cave with you anyway;

- you give Astrid and Calisto will give you a sword / you don't give Astrid - it doesn't change anything because you don't carry the sword with you either way - you only carry that fucking flamethrower; now tell me what the fucking point of that sword is...

A variant might be (but I didn't check): you asked Carmen to call the hunters to help you / you didn't ask - would it change anything? I guess it wouldn't.
The Windows game is unpacked: you can see all the pictures in the game/pictures folder. Nothing changes: most likely we simply miss the totally pointless dialogue with the hunters if Carmen doesn't call them to help.

Your powers? you should have maxed them by now.

It's one of the ways to survive the previous encounter with the cave ancient in ep4.

It doesn't.

In the last updates, what did the MC feel? Fear. In this update: fear. In the next update? Fear
Well at least shows he has some healthy and working survival system, fear is likely the wisest thing to feel with those two ladies and we know at least one of them is quite aware of his existence and slightly powered up from her torpor, but likely wants/needs a few other thousand snacks to feel sated after a few millennia. :p

On the one hand, it's a certain type of justice that Callisto's arrogance got her killed. On the other, having her get out somehow but still terrified of the experience might have been beneficial to the entire vampire community. Instead, folks like Virgil will keep poking around and fumbling enough to let that ancient build her power to the point of breaking free and devastating the world. I really hope dream girl is able to defeat cave monster or the world is in for a very bad future.

Not sure if our dream girl is better for the world, but chances she has a other plan for the MC than being food are at least significant higher...which makes me root for her.
Curious if Virgil will also come down to the caves soon, really want to see the fatty die.

I would laugh my ass off if his apparent caution in approaching the cavern ends up somehow turning out to be something that lets them figure out how to deal with the monster. Ofc, if dream girl manages to kill the cave monster, it might not matter what does or does not happen with Virgil. His whole thing, to me, just screams politics without real solutions. Like, "We are aware of the concerns regarding some 'cave creature' that is rumored to be responsible for disappearances of some of our kind. We are investigating what might be done and planning strategies that we cannot disclose at this time." (Translation: "Yeah, the 'cave creature' scares the hell out of us too. We have no plans to confront it at any time in the future.")

The thing I'm really wondering, though, is how (possibly just "if" at this point) the shield and sword are going to come into play. It's highly possible those just end up being loose ends that never get fleshed out any further.

There are other ways to conclude things that are probably better too. But the thought of those items intrigues me.

Honestly i really can't imagine the sword or shield to be game changers. Sure they may be powerfull tools, but at the end it's still a baby (MC) which would wield them against those two...there's just no way he can win (like he didn't the first time with the sword), maybe if they are close to death, unable to defend themselfs and can't use their powers...

Virgil isn't much better imo, we assumed his power is close to Callisto...so yeah, that's another one shot, maybe he can survive a attack or two with the shield. That being said, they didn't even need to use their powers to one shot Callisto :HideThePain:

Now if one of the sisters would get their hands on the sword and shield, that would likely asure the win of the one who gets it. Overal i find it dumb the MC gave the shield away and choose a flamethrower instead of arm himself with the 2 relics...

Pretty sure dream girl

Also I realized I was being kind of uncharitable when I borderline accused the author of plagiarism earlier so an alternate less hostile theory is that he didn't realize he was writing himself into a corner until he started episode 5 and realized he was in a corner. So rather than stalling in an attempt to milk supporters, the episode 5 situation could be him stalling to try and figure out how to wrap the story up in a satisfying way. Still not exactly honest but not outright fraudulent at least.

I think Dream girl is the Bad one locked in the temple and the "creature" is guarding the temple to keep her locked up and prevent her return. Notice she has control over those who disappeared and isn't just feeding on them all? Not too mention the fear aura that radiates from the cave, seems like things to prevent anything from coming in and providing food for the other. Dream girl wants her power back to escape hence why she is feeding on everyone that makes it into the temple. She also wants the MC to choose the Blood path, not sure what that is yet but I don't think it will be good for the humans. That's just my opinion though. We shall see as things unfold.

Hm, i doubt a vamp with the power of one of those two would just sit on their asses for millennia to guard the other, they would just kill the other or drain her and be done with it.
That fear aura doesn't seem to work on any vamp except the MC, like none of the others even noticed it.
How or why there are two ancients down there, which are hostile to each other, is a good question...i don't expect much from the little time we have left thought.
As for the humans, well they are cattle and they breed fast enough, so even if a couple of billion die there will be enough food left.
The problem with this ancients usually is, they drink vamp blood and if they are just awoken from a millenia long slumber, then thausands of vamps...

Why are a lot of folks failing to use spoilers when discussing end-game content that just dropped with Update 10? I still sometimes see people saying they're a few updates behind, not to mention anyone who might have been busy last week and not gotten to this quite yet.

I have played it, but only one week seems awfully fast to be giving away a lot of this stuff already for anyone who is slightly delayed. There is such a thing as real life that can delay someone.

If we look at the lore this game is inspired on
Yes, they should be burn under the sun. But there are also powers which prevent sundamage or powers/magic which let them control the weather etc....so yeah, your average apocalyptic nightmare, if a single one wakes up.

If we use only the game, who knows, no details on how powerfull vamps can get, not even in myths, neither what abilitys/magic exist, or if there were prior accidents with ancients.

This is the reason i dont like Calisto death there, she would take things serioulsly now she know is possible to things older than her to be awake something she doubted as a complete joke and impossible (make sense since it looks like the older you are the most likely for you to stay sleeping for ever ( in other people perspective it feels like eternity ) if you think Innana nap was like Calisto entire life multiple times ) to the point the old ones now really dont even know about those ancient vampires, the mc is too weak him surviving dont change much this is a problem to me, even something like virgil would be to much for the mc so he cant deal with danger even if he knew about it

Yeah, but Callisto/MC searching for information, preparing, rally strong allies etc that would likely take 2 or 3 other full episodes, we only got 3 updates left...
But yes feels rushed and really bad how this update was handled.

No one we've seen in game would be able to take down the ancients head on, including the MC.

The only plausible solution would be sealing the ancients in again. That's how they were halted in olden times after all.

The barrier is getting Virgil etc. to believe the level of threat and act accordingly.

I'd be severely disappointed if the MC ends up saving the day with his powers or magic weapons. He wouldn't stand a chance without industrial grade plot amour.
