Don't know much about the whole center thing issue, because I've never actually run into it myself. I've seen those hair things on my renders as well and always fixed them by adjusting the hairs to fit better. Lol but every now and then I just saw fuck it and find a different hair. Some vendors are better than others. Good luck.

Yeah, I am having similar issues, can't really find anything I like, may have to make it myself.
I would suggest a silver/metal toilet, to make it look more like a public one, though that is not too important, but it makes it look more 'public', like something in a park.
The main thing I would consider, other than perhaps a few decorations, like a seat cover dispenser, would be graffiti. That would go a long ways to making it look more realistic.

I don't even know at this point. The blonde started as a succubus. Have been tempted to change her up significantly again.
