I agree the MC comes over as dumb, I fear it is the problem how to get him into the story quick despite him being fresh.
As for "Coteries", that is unfortunately based on the new edition of VtM. (better take Vtm:Bloodlines)
I am not a nostalgic, but what they did with 5th edition is pure manure! While they did some improvements (e.g. Loresheets or you can choose some powers out of the "old" order), most of the rulestuff is a clear step back, too much randomness introduced and very limited scope!
As for the new metaplot, eight year old kids could make something like this or better! They did not close glaring plotholes, instead they opened new ones. Especially grating is the SJW-mindset shining through in the new VtM. Most gay or coloured characters are not put where they could be enrichment of the stories, but falling in with the door "boasting" how forwardthinking the authors think themselves to be.

They're still writing V5 books, the settings are mostly the same, Gehenna is near and different factions fight each other. Progressive stuff was already in the old material, anyways, Coteries is based on vampire affairs, not much real world stuff there.
I own VtM stuff from several editions, in fact I bought the 5e Rulebook and I am so annoyed by it, I will not buy more from them. If you want to ram an established franchise into the wall, look at this "Rulebook".
Many things sound great on first look, then when you see and play a test game, you recognise what an unplayable brainf... it is. Without house rules no chance in hell. For instance, the Hunger mechanic could be a great replacement for the blood pool if done right. But what did the players get? An absurd amount of rolls you have to add the Hunger mechanic to! Far too many and far too encompassing rolls, which in the end negate any attributes and learning.
For example, a noobie Tremere or a noobie Koldun could cast a world-shakeing ritual without any sweat if the Hunger roll is lucky. On the other hand, buying your henchman a newspaper could bring an experienced Vamp into a Hunger frenzy, if the fracking Hunger roll is unlucky.
That is simply bad design to let a random number roll decide something in the end, which should fall under attributes and dice pools.
The ruleset is so corsetted and linear, that you can (without houserules) only play a single type of playstyle. For instance, stories about fighting your inner Beast are senseless now, because RAW you have an insanse amount of rolls with Hunger dice added to them. But since Hunger dice are pure RNG, not coupled with other stuff, you can highly successfully do something, but cook off in frenzy because the Hunger roll is unlucky. Pointedly speaking you can start to frenzy in your bathroom brushing your hair!
Likewise laughable are the difficulties and botch rules. RAW it is impossible to roll the number of successes needed for several types of action a highly trained person regulary could do in real life.
As said, I am very unsatisfied with the 5th edition of VtM, esp. for the price of the book. Maybe additional books can make this mess playable without house rulings, but I will not buy them. Neither the Camarilla nor the Anarch books were great either. The free excerpts were enough already to see where the road is going to.

If so the "Transformation" tag is needed.
Transformation [A sequence showing a physical, biological change of some kind.]
Also:
Fantasy [Used when fantasy themes are heavily present.]
Sci-fi [Used when sci-fi themes are heavily present.]
For now that's it will play more to see if any more are needed.
Vampire confirmed tags added.
Mind Control tag added.
Monster tag added.

So I just got alerted that this game got tagged with mind control. Is the reason it took so long to get tagged because it's a minor thing that just popped up recently, or a major part of the game that people forgot to tag until now?

Rebirth 5'th update
It's done.
You'll get the chance to get your first vampiric power in this update. And get to know Laurie a bit better as well.
We're discussing right now, weather we should divide the game into multiple episodes or keep it one download. I'll make a poll about that next week.
Also, this month we hope to have the first android release for Rebirth. That will take a week or more, though.

It was a good update just curious if I am confused or something.
ok i played the game for about 1 hour.....and my finger hurts because i was mous clicking like hell...
10 choices.. thouds of mouse clicks later. no sex szene... all in the dark ... amost 80% of the games images are so damn dark that i ask myself if my monitor is broken..ok it got vampire setting.. ok .. but that dosent mean automaticly that literarly almost everything is so damn dark that u even can figure out , if u see a face or an apple on the screen ...
so i did just that .. exit game, delete ...

It might be my own interpetation of Monster, but for me Monster means it is none human (Like Godzilla), while the character you posted there is human and called a nosferatu in VtM lore. Yeah they have a mosterous apearance, but are still humans (or where before the whole vampire thing). That said, some might argue that Vampires are monsters, so the tag may still apply.

First thing is to chose "Alley" to get your first 5 points. You also get fighting prowess points by training with Eloise. The thing here is that you can randomly either succeed (more points) or fail (less points). So you have to save and load more or less often*. The last chance to get fighting points is to throw off Andrew at sharons place.
